2009 Heritage Updates

January: The Upper Room’s fate continued in the balance. A petition to save it started in the beginning of January at: petitiononline.com. This was an answer to prayer as over 100 people immediately signed on.

MorningStar Ministries had a Kingdom-Business Conference from the 22nd through the 24th. Special guests were Lance Wallnau, David Yarnes, Rich Marshall, and Eric Metaxas. Rick Joyner stated, “The Kingdom Business Association has gained amazing traction, becoming a format for prophetic insight that has proved accurate and desperately needed for these times…”

By the end of January, over 220 people signed the Petition to save the Upper Room.

February: On the 3rd, The Fort Mill Times reported:
Effort on to save PTL’s “Upper Room” By Jonathan Allen
(The following is a large portion of the article)
People from all over the country are coming together online in an effort to save a piece of history tied to Jim Bakker’s heyday at Heritage USA.
Before scandal laid him low, Bakker returned to Fort Mill from a trip to Israel with a mission to replicate the Upper Room – the place where Jesus is said to have had his last supper with his disciples – on the Heritage Campus. The building was painstakingly reproduced and opened as a 24-hour prayer center, where as many as 40 prayer ministers manned banks of prayer phones, ready to respond to any crisis.
I saw many, many good things come from it,” June Brobst, a former prayer minister, said. “It was a wonderful experience…it never felt like a job.”
But the Upper Room has been empty since 2006. At the time, Freedom Christian Center was using the building for its ministry, but mold was discovered and the ministry was asked to vacate the building while the mold was treated, according to Dorothy Wilson. Now it is in danger of being demolished, she said.
Coulston Enterprises bought the Upper Room along with the rest of the undeveloped Heritage USA land several years ago. The company, run by Earl Coulston, planned a massive amount of new development around the old PTL theme park, including a commercial center around the lake. More homes and town houses were also planned in the development.
Following the mold discovery, Wilson said, Coulston employee Eric Greenway told a Regent Park Homeowners Association meeting in 2007 that the Upper Room would have to be demolished because it posed a drainage problem for a town house project. Neither Greenway nor Coulston immediately returned calls seeking comment.
Wilson said she heard the property may be up for sale.
Rather than let the building go, Wilson set up a Web-based petition at: petitiononline.com to save the Upper Room. As of Monday, 226 people had signed the petition. It asks that the property be saved from the wrecking ball and either sold or donated to a ministry that would use it for the original purpose of a place for 24-hour a day intercessory prayer.
“The Upper Room building is very special to many, many people around the world,” Wilson wrote in an e-mail to the Times. “It is the desire of most, if not all persons who signed my online petition that the Upper Room of course NOT be torn down. We would hope that the Coulstons could donate it to MorningStar or one of the other ministries located on the grounds of the old Heritage USA, or that they would sell it to a ministry who will reopen it.”
Brobst is one of more than 200 people to sign the petition. She has many fond memories of her time at the Upper Room. She spent about a year as a prayer minister, and also worked I other position within the PTL.
The Upper Room saved many lives, she said.

“I had one young woman whose suicide we prevented by getting the police to her house while she was still on the phone with us,” Brobst said. “I’m not sure how I got involved; it was one of those things you just sort of slid into”

During the week of the 16th, Jim & Lori Bakker once again had as their guest internationally recognized Economist Dr. Larry Bates. The former bank CEO, speaker on political systems and an expert on the Federal Reserve wasted no time in describing the circumstances that led America into the economic chaos of today.

Mr. Bates’ economic predictions in his book THE NEW ECONOMIC DISORDER were becoming more of a reality with each new report from the financial markets. He spoke of a “false hope” in believing that the “Federal Stimulus” will solve the world’s economic crisis. Larry Bates and Jim Bakker discussed how all of this news is directly connected to Bible prophecy. Jim Bakker continued to warn people that it is wise to be prepared for the future, while holding on to our faith in the Lord.

Another guest during the week was Dr. Paul Williams, who is a worldwide minister in emergency situations as well as an emergency preparedness expert. He and his team have helped people during many disasters, including Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Williams’ book WHEN ALL PLANS FAIL, is a survival guide for times when food, water, and shelter may become difficult to come by during a natural or manmade disaster.

Together, Dr. Williams and Dr. Bates gave an incredible presentation of what might be happening in the days ahead. Because Jim Bakker believes strongly that we are indeed living in the final moments before Jesus returns, he suggested that these two knowledgeable men come back to do a conference.

From the 19th through the 21st, MorningStar Ministries had a “Prophetic Equipping Conference” in the lobby of the Grand Hotel. One of the guest speakers, Larry Randolph, told the conference goers that a global “perfect storm” was coming upon the world economic system. Speaking from Luke 17:26-27(NKJV) he read, “And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.”

During the month, Jim Bakker began construction on a “tabernacle” in a large valley near the Morningside Retreat. The ministry decided, through a miracle of contributions from around the country, to build a Master’s Commission* teaching center for the youth. Lloyd Zeigler, founder of the worldwide Master’s Commission Ministry, appeared on Jim Bakker’s show and spoke highly of the endeavor to create a place where young men and women would be trained for ministry through learning how to use the media as another form of outreach. Hoping to create a new TV network, Jim Bakker planned to have the center opened by July 4th, just in time for the new school year. By the end of the month, the tabernacle (training/teaching center) was being framed.

*Master’s Commission is a worldwide full gospel ministry for the youth. They have schools and training centers in many countries, teaching and training thousands of young men and women for the work of the Lord.

On February 23rd, the Stock Market in America fell to its lowest numbers since 1997. Fears of the future were beginning to take their toll on the faces of many investors. The recession labeled as the “worst in recent history” was beginning to shake many people’s confidence as more banks, construction companies and businesses in general, filed for bankruptcy or just closed down without warning.

On February 28th, The Herald reported: PTL ministry might see new life on cable TV
Jim and Tammy Faye tapes up for auction  By Tim Funk-2009 the Charlotte Observer
Updated 02/28/09 Charlotte—
TV reruns starring Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker? “Best of PTL” DVDs?
Either could happen, said an Atlanta investment banker who plans to sell 15,000 hours of the original videotapes from the old PTL Club TV shows at an auction next month.
Ben Dyer, president of Gospel Properties, said he has heard from several possible bidders. They’re interested in digitizing these master recordings of the shows featuring televangelism’s most famous couple. Then, they would present them on cable and satellite TV, on DVDs or as streaming video on the Internet.
Bakker spokeswoman Shar Graham said she was told the tapes have been appraised at $8 million.
The tapes feature Christian talk-shows from 1974 to 1987, including “The Jim and Tammy Show,” “Tammy’s House Party,” and “Breakfast with Jim and Tammy.”
“You put them all on a satellite channel, and you wouldn’t have to hit ‘repeat’ for three years,” said Dean Becker, vice chairman of Ocean Tomo, a Chicago-based merchant bank that auctions intellectual property. His firm will handle the “PTL Library” auction March 27 at the Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco.
The PTL (for Praise the Lord) empire in Fort Mill Township, included a hotel, campground and Christian theme park. The centerpiece was always the TV programming, beamed to millions each day. Fans smiled and skeptics winced as Jim Bakker offered upbeat sermons from the couch and Tammy Faye, shedding mascara-tinged tears, sang about Jesus. Guests over the years included Ronald Reagan, Billy Graham, Pat Boone and Art Linkletter.
It all came crashing down in 1987 amid scandal: Jim Bakker paid hush money to keep church secretary Jessica Hahn quiet about their sexual encounter, and the PTL defrauded thousands of followers by overselling “lifetime partnerships” in Heritage Village.
The Bakkers eventually divorced. Jim Bakker went to prison for fraud. And in 2007, Tammy Faye Messner died after suffering from colon cancer.
Despite all the disgrace and unhappiness, Dyer and Becker both insist that nostalgia and a hunger to hear the Christian message delivered in a professionally produced setting could make 20-year-old PTL shows popular again, especially with evangelical Christian audiences.
“Many grew up with this playing in their living rooms. It’s feel-good,” said Becker. “And of all the potential buyers, not one has brought up that Jim and Tammy had a fall. They just focused on the content.”
Dyer points to the proliferation of 24-hour channels that show vintage TV and inspirational fare.
“Look at the TV Land (channel), which shows reruns of ‘Leave it to Beaver’,” he said. “Baby boomers would enjoy watching Jim and Tammy for nostalgia. And their shows have a timeless Christian message.”
There’s also the curiosity factor: “People can watch these shows knowing how their story ended. It makes them even more intriguing to watch.”
After the fall of PTL, Dyer said, its video vault was given to a Charlotte area church he could not identify. Then it was purchased by a cable content provider – Dyer wouldn’t name him – who planned to use excerpts on a TV music channel. Dyer got the 15,069 tapes (now stored in Georgia) after the cable provider defaulted on a loan from Dyer’s company.
Instead of trying to broadcast the PTL shows through Gospel Properties, Dyer said, he decided to auction them to companies that have a track record.
Besides the tapes, the PTL cache includes 16,646 slides, negatives and production stills.
Has Dyer heard from Jim Bakker, now remarried and a televangelist in Branson, Mo?” “We’ve had conversations with his family,” Dyer says, “and we may have further conversations.”
Graham, Bakker’s spokeswoman, said: “He’s glad to see they’re preserved somewhere and in good shape. They’re part of his legacy.”

At the end of February, the petition for the Upper Room grew to over 260 signatures. There was still no word from the Coulstons as to their decision whether or not it was going to be taken down.

During the month, construction of homes on the grounds of Heritage USA has virtually come to a standstill.

March: A sizeable purchase has been made by “The Broadcast Group.” This organization moved their offices from Charlotte, North Carolina into the Total Learning Center (the building behind the Big Barn Auditorium). They have purchased the Big Barn Auditorium, the TV Studio and the Total Learning Center. The company has done production work for mega worldwide ministries as well as major sporting events.

The founder of this group, Dr. Dale Hill, is an extraordinarily talented man in the field of TV production. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Hill was the Senior Vice President in charge of TV production for the PTL Ministry.

His production company also offers teaching/training programs in TV production. The company describes itself as “Capturing the Event…Delivering it to the world.” Their web site is: thebroadcastgroup.com.

“ZHOP” (The Zadok House of Prayer) is moving off the grounds, no details are available at this time.

The Ministry of the “The Cause,” located in the PTL Campground Registration Office for the past few years, is also moving off the grounds.

“Bright City Studios” has moved into the Cause’s offices. This new ministry is a recording studio for Christian artists on the grounds and in the area.

During the week of the 8th – 14th,
Jim Bakker read a recent prophetic warning from David Wilkerson, who pastors the Time Square Church in New York City. David Wilkerson is recognized in some circles as a prophetic voice for this generation.
His ministry was established in 1958, and his story is documented in the book & movie, THE CROSS AND THE SWITCHBLADE.
The web site for this interdenominational ministry is: tscnyc.org.Jim believed the Lord wanted him to share David Wilkerson’s message with his TV audience. It stated as follows:

AN URGENT MESSAGE: “I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING; WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE-EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting including Times Square, in New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11:3 it is written, If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, it is hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart. (Jeremiah 18: 11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, Upon the wicked he will rain snares, fire and burning winds, this will be the portion of their cup. Why? David answered, Because the Lord is righteous (v.7). This is a righteous judgment just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. Lay in store a thirty-day supply of food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We flee like a bird to a mountain. Or, as David says, He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men (v.4). In the Lord I take refuge (v.1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run, no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take, trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with this message as you choose.

God Bless and keep you.

In Christ, DAVID WILKERSON”

From the 19th to the 21st, MorningStar Ministries held its annual “Healing Conference.”

On March 23rd, Jim Bakker announced that Rick Joyner was going to be a guest on his show in a few weeks. They are going to discuss Bible prophecy and how it relates to the current global economic crisis. He also said that Rick Joyner invited him to a “Roundtable” of Christian leaders at Heritage USA.

Encouraging people in these unprecedented times, Jim Bakker stated, “The church will be fully functioning in these last days before Jesus’ return and quoted Matthew 16:18 which says, “I will build my church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.”

At the end of March:

  • The fate of the Upper Room is still unsure.
  • The number of people signing the petition to save it continues to grow and can be signed at: petitiononline.com.
  • On March 28th, the auction of the 15,000 tapes of the old “PTL Shows” attracted no bids.
  • Jim Bakker has totally committed himself to preaching on the Book of Revelation, and is re-releasing his book, PROSPERITY AND THE COMING APOCALYPSE, which addresses the dangers of materialism and the events that will be happening as the return of the Lord draws nearer.

April: On the 7th, Rick Joyner put a message on his web site of his thoughts and concern over the current economic crisis. He stated, “This is the most serious times of a lifetime, with more to come…Pray for our leaders. That is what we desperately need to do.” He went on to say, “If the Lord does not intervene, we (America) will go spiraling down… Russia and China are now talking about a ‘one world currency’.”

The video featured a statement by Congressman (D) Rep. Paul Kanjorski, Capital Markets Subcommittee Chair, who pointed out how our entire economic system, along with the world’s economic system, was almost brought down in one day not too long ago.

If the government had not raised the FDIC (the Federal Government’s insurance on all deposit accounts) from $100,000 to $250,000, it would have happened.
Rick Joyner’s messages can be viewed on: morningstarministries.org.

From April 16th to the 18th, MorningStar Ministries hosted a “Spiritual Warfare Conference.” This conference was “for those who are devoted to knowing and using divinely powerful weapons against the great strongholds of our times and for the salvation of cities and nations.”

The Upper Room’s parking lot, which recently had been blocked off, is reopened. A “No Trespassing” sign has since been posted on the property.
The web site to sign the petition to keep it from being destroyed can be found at: petitiononline.com.

It appears that the Amphitheatre’s parking lot is the new location for Coulston Grading Company. They moved their trucks, bulldozers and heavy machinery onto the parking area of the amphitheatre, and have set up an office in a large construction trailer. The original office located just outside the grounds is now empty and is in the process of being sold.

Freedom Christian Center: fccfortmill.org, may be relocating because MorningStar Ministries just purchased the warehouse/office building where their church is located. MorningStar is moving their K-12th grade school, from “Main Street” inside the Heritage Grand Hotel, into this building.

The Broadcast Group is diligently working on restoring its newly acquired facilities. It is encouraging to see “new life” around the TV Studio, the Barn and the Total Learning Center.

Pictures and information of the progress can be found on their web site: thebroadcastgroup.com or on their “Facebook” account: facebook.com//the-broadcast-group.

All during the month, construction continued on the “tabernacle” for the new Master’s Commission School at Morningside in Blue Eye, Missouri, which will be open in time for the upcoming school year.

Pictures of the progress of the tabernacle can be seen at: jimbakkershow.com.

Jim Bakker is planning a weeklong 4th of July celebration for the official dedication of Morningside. Seminars, concerts and a large picnic are a few of the many planned events. Several guests are coming for the grand opening as well, including Pastor Lloyd Ziegler, the founder of Master’s Commission. Philip Cameron, International Youth Pastor Bill Ballenger, along with the renowned pianist Dino Kartsonakis also plan to be there for the festivities.

ON THE WEEKEND OF THE 25th, A NEW STRAIN OF THE H1N1 “SWINE FLU” PRODUCED AN OUTBREAK THAT CAUSED THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION TO PUT OUT A “PANDEMIC WARNING.” Jim Bakker preached a sobering message on Sunday the 26th bringing to light that this might be the EVENT that he spoke of on New Year’s Eve; the EVENT that would cause people to be “cloistered” around their televisions, unable to go to work. He said that he has been in touch with doctors and medical experts in Mexico, where the flu originated, who told him that we are not hearing all the facts related to this situation stating, “It is much worse than we are being told.”

Warning people to heed the instructions given by the government to keep from getting sick, Jim Bakker said that in these times everyone needs enough extra food and water on hand in case people have to be sequestered in their homes. He also said, “If this doesn’t turn into a worldwide pandemic, it might be the precursor, and we need to be prepared!” The 1918 Pandemic started out in the spring as mild, went dormant during the summer, and came back with a vengeance in the fall killing millions. Major news networks have interviewed flu experts and doctors who have confirmed that this could come back even stronger once it mutates during the summer months.”

On the 28th, The World Health Organization (WHO) reported the incubation time for the Swine Flu is now 2 to 3 days, and it is spreading rapidly… How far this flu will spread, and how many people it will effect is unknown. President Obama now refers to the flu as the “H1N1 Virus,” and is continually monitoring the situation.

On April 30th, Because of the seriousness of all that is happening in the world, Rick Joyner hosted a “Roundtable Meeting” for 200 invited pastors and Christian leaders from around the world to seek the Lord for the church’s direction in these critical times. Jim Bakker decided not to attend the meeting because he felt it was best to stay at Morningside and continue doing updates on the Pandemic as it continues to spread. Jim Bakker believes that this is the “pale horse” from the Book of Revelation that is riding with diseases, and there is more to come as we are living in the time just before Jesus returns. He said that our faith must remain strong and read Psalm 91 to his audience to help calm everyone’s fears.

PSALM 91
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noon-day.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
WITH LONG LIFE WILL I SATISFY HIM, AND SHEW HIM MY SALVATION.(KJV)

May: The Amphitheatre is now the new location for the Coulston Grading Co. The parking lot of the amphitheatre has been transformed into a storage area for the company’s large inventory of heavy equipment.

Construction of new homes on the grounds and in the Fort Mill area is almost at a “standstill” because of the slow economy.

The Broadcast Group continues work on the Barn, TV Studio, Total Learning Center and their future plans. They invite people to come down and help with the outside restoration on any “sunny” Friday. As of now, no events have been announced.
Check out their website: thebroadcastgroup.com.

The Upper Room: There has been a new development concerning the Upper Room. Though not official, there is word out that it is “under contract.” It is still a mystery as to who might be purchasing the Upper Room, but this latest news does sound encouraging. The petition to save The Upper Room can be signed by clicking on: petitiononline.com.

Swine Flu Pandemic? MorningStar Ministries founder, Rick Joyner, has consistently shown concern over a possible “Bird Flu” pandemic. Though he does not believe that this new strain of flu is the “Bird Flu,” MorningStar gave out “Pandemic Preparedness” instructions. They also are planning monthly updates and training classes in disaster response in case of any type of emergency in the future.

Early in the month, Rick Joyner hosted an invitational “Roundtable Meeting” for over 200 ministry leaders and Christian groups from around the world who are affiliated with MorningStar. This interdenominational meeting proved successful in seeing the Body of Christ come together despite some of their doctrinal differences. Seeking the Lord for His direction in these critical times was the theme of many of the meetings that took place inside the hotel.

The World Health Organization said the Swine Flu is spreading. In brief, an Associated Press’ article reported, “Up to 2 billion people could be infected by Swine Flu if the current outbreak turns into a pandemic lasting two years. WHO flu Chief Keiji Fukuda said the historical record of flu pandemics indicates one-third of the world’s population gets infected in such outbreaks. Independent experts agreed that the estimate was possible but pointed out that many would not show any symptoms.”

Jim Bakker’s Newsletter for the month reflected his beliefs. Excerpts from Morningside’s letter:

“There is coming an event that would be so overwhelming that people will be cloistered around their television sets, schools will be closed, and people will not go to work.” This is the word God gave to me a few months ago in my New Year’s Eve message for 2009! Could this Swine Flu be this pandemic event? I could not understand why God gave me the word cloistered, which means confined within walls-secluded! World Health spokesman Thomas Abraham said, ‘We are very, very concerned and it appears this virus is spreading from human to human and it is all hands on deck at this moment.’

This outbreak of Swine Flu could be the one that Dr. Robert Webster, PhD, a Virologist and flu specialist, has been warning us about for many years. This is the same type of influenza that evolved from pigs in America that killed up to 100 million people during 1918, the deadliest pandemic in history! ‘Society just can’t accept the idea that 50 percent of the population could die, and I think we have to face that possibility,’ Dr. Robert Webster said. He went on to say, ‘I’m sorry if I’m making people a little frightened, but I feel it’s my role.’

Why is Robert Webster so concerned? Webster’s work with the Avian Flu can be said to have sprung from a beach walk with fellow researcher Graeme Laver, during which the men noticed a large number of birds dead along the shoreline. Webster wondered whether it was possible that the birds had died from the Avian Flu, and he subsequently traveled to an island to take samples from hundreds of birds. This led to more trips, and eventually Webster discovered a link between the Avian Flu and the Human Flu. This link meant one thing to Webster: that it is possible for the Avian and Human viruses to combine, creating a new virus that humans would have no antibodies to combat!

What does the Bible have to say about this? This is the kind of event the Bible says will kill up to one fourth of the world. Let’s read Revelation 6:7-8 with the Greek translation highlighted; “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast (Living Being) say, Come (or go) and see. And I looked, and behold a pale (greenish paleThe color of death, corpse and sickness) horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell (Hades, a Jewish term for the abode of the wicked dead.) followed (accompanied) with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill (destroy) with sword, and with hunger (starvation), and with death (Plague or pestilence), and with (by or from) the beasts of the earth.

I believe the four horsemen of the apocalypse are riding. One of them is called plague (death) where one day, one fourth of the world will be killed. God’s word tells us things that will occur before they happen. Is this current Swine Flu a pandemic of Biblical proportions? Only time will tell! We need to be ready for any event, storm, earthquake, flood or pandemic. The Church is to be the place of refuge in the time of trouble and God’s people filled with hope and answers!”…

Jim concluded the letter by urging people to be prepared with enough supplies to weather any crisis quoting Proverbs 22:3 “A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” (TLB)

During the month, Dr. Paul Williams, who heads up a worldwide ministry assisting people in emergency situations, and economic expert Dr. Larry Bates, author of THE NEW ECONOMIC DISORDER, were once again guests on Jim Bakker’s show.

Experts in their respective fields, these two men continue to agree that many in the world, and many in the church, do not understand the times we are living in. Larry Bates said, “Man is rebelling against God, and there is coming a time of shaking whereby anything that can be shaken will be shaken.” Further stating, “The recession is not over and the second shoe has yet to fall in the economy, which is the failing of commercial property.” Larry Bates explained that many major stores have already closed, and there are many malls that will also close as a result of the stagnant economy. He reiterated that printing and spending more money is not the answer to the tremendous problems America faces.

Dr. Paul Williams, author of WHEN ALL PLANS FAIL, helped people understand the importance of emergency preparedness, and how the truths of the Bible concerning the end times are being fulfilled. He stated that the most important way to be prepared is to get right with the Lord, knowing His voice, learning what to do as He speaks to our hearts and minds! Concerning a possible flu pandemic, Dr. Williams said that people need to be prepared as you would for an ice storm or a hurricane, having enough food and water on hand that can last for several days in case we are quarantined to our homes. No matter how the flu affects us, it is important to have extra supplies on hand for any type of emergency.

Jim Bakker continues to say that bringing the prophetic word to people in these last days is why God allowed him to go to prison and then to come back on TV. He spent years studying the Book of Revelation while he was incarcerated, taking each word back to the original language in order to warn people of “things to come.” Larry Bates and Dr. Paul Williams agreed that Jim Bakker has been raised up for “such a time as this,” concluding that it is neither gloom nor doom to learn about being prepared and alert in the days ahead. They also said that some of God’s greatest heroes spent time in prison, like Joseph, the Apostle Paul and Jesus’ beloved disciple John, who received the Book of Revelation while imprisoned on the isle of Patmos. It isn’t strange for God to allow His men to go to prison to accomplish His purposes.

Over the weekend of the 16th-18th, The Cause, temporarily located in the Old Wagon Wheel Restaurant on the grounds, hosted a seminar. Dr. Paul Williams was one of the guest speakers, and gave the same message to this group as he did on Jim Bakker’s Show and at MorningStar’s Roundtable Meeting…BE PREPARED BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND PRACTICALLY.

Zadok House of Prayer (Z-Hop) is scheduled to move by the end of June. Their future home has not been made public.

Morningside Ministries in Blue Eye, Missouri continues to move forward:
At the end of this month, Jim Bakker’s team has done an extraordinary job of getting the new “Tabernacle” completed for the first students of Master’s Commission when they arrive in September.

Jim Bakker’s grandson James, Tammy Sue’s eldest boy, is the first student being accepted for the start of the new school year. Jim Bakker is thrilled to have his grandson being trained for ministry and broadcasting at the new Tabernacle that will be dedicated during the weeklong 4th of July celebrations at Morningside.

June: Zadok House of Prayer (Z-HOP) has yet to announce where they will relocate. They were to be out of the warehouse/office building that is now owned by MorningStar Ministries by the end of June. These dedicated people rotate their schedules to keep continuous prayer going around the clock.

MorningStar Ministries moved their K-12 Comenius School into the warehouse/office building where Z-HOP and Freedom Christian Center are still residing. Freedom Christian Center, pastored by Ron Lambright, has not publicly announced their future plans.

On the 11th, the World Health Organization reported the Swine Flu is now at Phase 6 level, making it the “first” Pandemic of the 21st Century. The disease is not slowing as first thought and had over 36,000 confirmed cases worldwide as of the 11th. No one knows what this new flu strain will evolve into over the summer. A Swine Flu vaccine is being worked on and hopefully will be ready by fall. Rick Joyner has suggested that everyone have enough emergency food on hand in case people have to be quarantined in their homes to stop its spread.

On the 19th, our local paper, The Herald, reported:
“Number of swine flu cases in S.C. jump significantly in past 2 weeks–by Joey Holleman – The (Columbia) State”
An excerpt from the article:  “The number of confirmed swine flu cases in South Carolina shot up by 34 in the last two weeks, an indication of the H1N1 strain is unlike any seen in recent years.
“This is a new virus, and we don’t know its behavior well,” state epidemiologist Dr. Jerry Gibson said. “We’re still learning. Its persistence does seem to be unusual.”
Seasonal flu strains, while slightly different each year, tend to peak in the winter months and slack off as the weather warms. The first swine flu cases showed up in South Carolina when a group of Newberry Academy returned from a mid-April trip to Mexico, where health officials believe the H1N1 strain first gained a foothold.
By mid-May, state health officials had confirmed 36 cases. Since many flu victims
don’t go to doctors, and some who go to doctors aren’t tested for the virus, the actual number of cases in the state is much higher than the confirmed cases, Gibson said.”

On the 12th – 13th, Rick Joyner hosted a “Discovery Weekend” for those interested in moving into a condominium in the Heritage Towers when they are completed. MorningStar describes the Heritage Towers as a “close knit residential community for active adult Christians. We envision attracting and mobilizing a body of
believers who desire to engage in the most enjoyable, fruitful and productive years of their lives. Our goal is to advance the Kingdom by making this the best and most unique Christian Active Adult Community anywhere!

Heritage Towers is a major extension of MorningStar’s overall mission to honor our fathers and mothers. It will be a place of discovering gifts and callings and being equipped and deployed to fulfill all the Lord has for us.” There is no scheduled completion date for the Towers as of now. For more information, visit their web site: morningstarministries.org.

MorningStar will be closing in July for its annual month long sabbatical. There will be no services until August 2nd.

On the 28th, MorningStar announced they will be forming a new daycare that will open in the fall of 2009. It will be located in the former classrooms of the Comenius School that were on Main Street inside the Grand Hotel. The daycare will serve families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. There also will be an after school program for children ages 5-12. Both programs will be open to MorningStar church members and those in the surrounding community.

At the end of the month, The Cause Ministry, owners of the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and two adjacent log cabins on Lake Heritage, put the three buildings up for-sale. They have not said where they intend to move.

The Upper Room: There is no new word on a pending sale, and the for-sale sign has not been removed from the building. As of the end of the month, there are too many conflicting stories about the Upper Room’s fate to give an accurate update. The petition to save it is still growing, and can be found at: petitiononline.com.

The World Outreach Center (also known as the WOC building), which the Malaysians have had on the market for the past few years, has a new sign in front of it offering leases on office space. The huge pyramid shaped building located on Regent Parkway once housed the main offices of the PTL Ministry.

The 14+ acres in front of the Heritage Grand Hotel where the Heritage Island Water Park was located remains vacant and for-sale by Earl Coulston.

Jim Bakker’s Morningside Church in Blue Eye, Missouri is planning a
weeklong 4th of July celebration for the dedication of the Master’s Commission Tabernacle, and the official Grand Opening & dedication of Morningside Ministries from June 29th through July 5th.

Excerpts from Jim Bakker’s newsletter: “We will be dedicating the Tabernacle and Master’s Commission center in Peaceful Valley on July 3rd… Each day we will have our live television show and there will be concerts throughout the park. We will be featuring music all the way from Ozark Mountain cloggers to the majestic sounds of Dino (Kartsonakis) and a concert of Gaither-style old time gospel music from Master’s Commission singers. Each evening, at 7 PM, there will be special speakers and concerts, beginning Monday night with the “God of the Mountain is the God of the Valley” concert hosted by Ronnie and Glory-Anne Prophet and Lulu Roman…

At 12 noon on Friday, July 3rd, Lloyd Ziegler, founder of Master’s Commission will be the special dedication speaker at the Tabernacle. The premier singing group of Master’s Commission, called Front Line, under the direction of recording artist Nina Poole will also be featured. Lloyd and Front Line will also minister at 7 PM on Grace Street. There will be a spectacular musical production that will bless you abundantly!

The “Grand Opening of Morningside” ceremony is on July 4th at noon on Grace Street, featuring Philip Cameron as our Grand Opening speaker. This will be a Grand event with all the people you see on the daily Jim Bakker Program and many, many more!…

Each day there will be tours for all and events for children along with concerts, both in the valley and on Grace Street.”

Jim Bakker continues to say, “We are living in Revelation days with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse riding around the world with earthquakes, famines, storms, pandemics, political unrest and financial depression!
The Bible says that when we have done all, then we can stand! Stand on what? Stand on the Word of God.”

July: MorningStar Ministries was closed for the month.

All Nations Church, pastored by Drs. Bonnie and Mahesh Chavda, has recently completed their new church building. They had been meeting in a “giant” sized tent. This church has been on the grounds since the mid 90’s and is located on the 26 secluded acres where PTL’s Fort Hope ministry once stood.

4th of July at Morningside:

The Jim Bakker Show streamed the entire weeklong celebration from Morningside in Blue Eye, Missouri. The Tabernacle was officially dedicated along with Morningside Ministries. Visitors and viewers enjoyed the many special guests, music and preaching as Jim and Lori hosted a huge celebration that brought hundreds of people together from around the country. The gala affair was reminiscent of the way Heritage USA once celebrated the 4th of July.

On the 5th, Zadok House of Prayer (Z-Hop) held a meeting in the office/warehouse, now owned by MorningStar, for all those involved with the ministry. There was a decision made to move to a small church just outside the grounds on Dorman Road in Pineville, N.C. They moved at the end of July.

Freedom Christian Center, who meets in the same office/warehouse that MorningStar now owns has not yet publicly announced where they will relocate.

The Upper Room: There is word out that the building is being sold, but as of now there is no information available to confirm this latest report.

During the month, Jim Bakker incorporated a “Revelation Now” report on his show. He strongly believes that so much is happening in the world right now that lets us know we are living in the Book of Revelation that he decided to do daily reports on current world events. Rick Joyner is going to be a guest on The Jim Bakker Show in August to discuss all that is happening on the earth from a biblical perspective. Rick Joyner is on Jim Bakker’s Board of Directors and they remain close friends.

On the weekend of the 18th, The Broadcast Group hosted a reunion for former students who attended Heritage Academy during the PTL years. No other events were posted on their Facebook account for July, but they are putting together a schedule now, and will let everyone know…Check out their web site: thebroadcastgroup.com.

From the 20th-25th, Jim Bakker hosted a “Get Ready” Conference at Morningside. Several guest speakers attended including, economic expert, Dr. Larry Bates and emergency preparedness expert, Dr. Paul Williams. Health and wellness doctors Don Verhulst and Francisco Contreras and Nutritionist, Kirk Strong gave their invaluable information and advice on being prepared for any type of emergency. This incredible ‘emergency preparedness’ conference was designed to help people know how to be prepared in case of a catastrophe, plague or natural disaster. The entire conference and Jim Bakker’s teaching on the Book of Revelation takes the fear out of the soon return of the Lord.

Jim Bakker continues to monitor the Swine Flu and many other situations relating to the Book of Revelation on his daily show. He contends that he is a “watchman on the wall” for these last days. He continues to state that the Swine Flu could be one of the EVENTS that he prophesied would be happening causing people to be “cloistered” in their homes. He also said that terrorism will soon be increasing at an alarming rate, and “The good thing about the bad things is the bad things lead to the return of the Lord.” He quoted from Matthew: 24 where Jesus indicates that certain signs would be obvious that His return is near. He warned people to STUDY the Bible as it relates to the times we are living in.

At the end of the month, the CDC reported the Swine Flu is on the rise. There is now no way to accurately keep an exact count of how many people in America have come down with the disease. Quoting a recent report, “The United States continues to report the largest number of novel H1N1 cases of any country worldwide; however, most people who have become ill have recovered without requiring medical treatment. They also state there are areas in this country where the novel H1N1 virus is increasing with intense activity. They are surprised that the virus is still spreading during the summer months and see it being very active during the winter season which is common for that type of virus.”
You can get the facts at the CDC’s web site: cdc.gov.

The WHO concluded that the further spread of the pandemic, within affected countries and to new countries, is considered inevitable. This assumption is fully backed by experience. The 2009 influenza pandemic has spread internationally with unprecedented speed. In past pandemics, influenza viruses have needed more than six months to spread as widely as the new H1N1 virus has spread in less than six weeks. They said that they will continue to post their briefings but will not put up new numbers because it is unable to calculate the larger numbers that come in daily. The WHO’s web site is: disease/swineflu.

August: MorningStar Ministries resumed church services on the 2nd. Speaking to a packed church, Rick Joyner announced he will be serving as Senior Pastor of MorningStar Fellowship Church from now on. Pastor Robin McMillan will be stepping down as Senior Pastor and serving in the ministry of revival/evangelism for MorningStar. Gifted in these two facets of ministry, Pastor McMillan will be ministering at other MorningStar churches as well as traveling around the world. Rick Joyner also said this is a “new beginning” for the church calling it, “MorningStar 2.0.” He believes MorningStar is going to accomplish many more important things for the Kingdom of God in the coming days.

During the month, There were growing concerns by many Americans about the new National Health Care Bill that the government wants to pass immediately into law. Rick Joyner wrote and spoke openly about his deep concerns over this Bill. He purposely put out “Special Bulletins,” writing about the dangers of passing such legislation into law. An excerpt from one of Rick Joyner’s latest Bulletins:

“SPECIAL BULLETIN National Health Scare, Part 4 by: Rick Joyner

The national debate on health care is rising in intensity every day. This is very encouraging—Americans are waking up, getting informed, and becoming engaged. Truth and light are the “divinely powerful weapons” that can have a much greater impact than any military force. As light has been shown on the health care bill, it is creating a remarkable awakening.

Health care is a major issue, and even though this present bill could be a disaster for the nation if it passes, almost everyone agrees that some kind of change is needed in our health care system. Currently, most of the passion is against something (and this is right); however, once this bill is stopped, let us not lose our passion, but turn it into something positive and constructive. The awakening that is taking place is an opportunity for something extraordinary to be done. There are answers to the great issues of our times. We will address some of these in future Bulletins, but for now we need to look at some issues that have been exposed by the present controversy that is in many ways much bigger than the health care bill.

One thing we do not want to do is demonize those we disagree with, even if this is happening to us. Some good is in the worst people and some bad is in the best people. Good intentions can be mixed in with the evil, and often in people’s minds those good intentions are what they justify their actions with, but the actions are still evil, and the actions are what must be stopped. Even so, let us always keep in mind that people are not our enemies, as is clear in Ephesians 6.

I can appreciate those who think my language is too incendiary in these Bulletins when I use such terms as “totalitarianism,” or when I make references to Hitler and Stalin. It is not my purpose to unnecessarily ratchet up the passions, but I do think they are relevant, and we need to understand the clear lessons of history when governments are given too much authority over people. Even so, I confess to having wondered myself if I had not gone too far in some of my statements, so I prayed for the true nature of what we’re dealing with to be revealed. My prayer was answered much faster than I was expecting. I am now much more confident than ever that I am right about the dangers I see, and I will be even bolder in my warnings. I am not angry at any person, even those I think are being used the most to do evil, rather I am praying for them.

That being said, when people have ulterior or evil motives, at some point they will always tip their hand. Conservatives, and especially Christians, are being demonized by the Obama Administration, and totalitarian control is being sought in ways that are abundantly clear. The list below includes some of the ways this has been made quite clear in the last few weeks:

  1. The White House request informants to send them the names of those who speak negatively about the health care bill. This is nothing less than an enemies list and a remarkably blatant attempt to build a culture of fear in order to stifle descent. The shock and outrage about this is just beginning, but it is already being publicly called one of the most serious threats to the freedom of speech ever.
  2. The Department of Homeland Security put out the infamous memo basically declaring that all evangelical Christians, as well as high percentage of all Christians and veterans, are potential right wing terrorists. Of course, they did not use the term “evangelical Christians,” but they said those “who believe in the biblical prophecies of the end times,” which does include virtually all evangelicals, as well as a high percentage of all other Christians.
  3. The U.S. holds a joint exercise with several other nations to combat terrorist attacks. The attacks they simulate are from “right wing terrorists.” Think about that. The world has suffered just one attack in history from one who could be a right-wing terrorist, Timothy McVeigh, and all the rest around the world have come from Muslim extremists, yet this whole exercise is about stopping right wing extremists.”

On the 17th, during The Jim Bakker Show, Jim Bakker linked up a live phone conversation with Rick Joyner to discuss the Health Care Bill. Rick Joyner spoke passionately of the many doors this Bill will open if it is passed saying, “It will threaten our most basic liberties.” He then invited Jim Bakker to a “Summit” he was hosting at Heritage USA from the 20th through the 22nd to further discuss the Health Care Bill. Jim Bakker commented that he has never before seen Rick Joyner this concerned about anything in all the years he has known him.

On the 18th, Jim Bakker’s monthly Newsletter reflected his beliefs of the times we are living in. A large excerpt from his writings:

“We are facing some of the most monumental times in world history in the days to come. The Swine Flu threat is greater than terrorism, according to Alan Johnson, major health leader from England. Robert Webster, noted doctor and flu pandemic expert, has warned for years that if the Bird Flu would spread to the Swine and then to humans, it could kill up to one half of the World’s population.

Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization, told the media last week that this Swine Flu is likely to be the most widespread pandemic ever in world history! She went on to say she is projecting the disease would spread in two or three major waves over multiple years.

The reports of Iran having the ability to make a nuclear bomb and the rumor that Israel may attack Iran before they are attacked by Iran, is shaking up world leaders. Iran has already fired missiles capable of hitting Israel. Israeli warships are said to be rehearsing for an attack on Iran in the Red Sea. Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, calls the Holocaust a “myth” and is pledging to wipe Israel “from the pages of History.” Keep your eyes on the Middle East!

A few days ago, Senator Kit Bond, Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, responding to recent attacks on the White House and many government computers, told Newsmax that cyber attack is more devastating than nuclear bombs. He went on to say a cyber attack on the United States could be more devastating economically than a nuclear bomb and could cause massive deaths as well. Bond said a cyber attack could bring down our entire infrastructure and crush our country and the world’s economy.

You may ask how computer warfare can destroy a country. Senator Bond says, a cyber attack can disrupt air traffic control and cause deaths, open floodgates on Hydro-dams, take down major Wall Street institutions, disrupt food supply, electrical power, heat and air-conditioning.

There have been over 1000 earthquakes at Yellowstone National Park since January, 2009, causing one geologist, Christopher Sanders, to warn people to flee the park believing an eruption is near. Other geologists did not agree with him. However, Jan Nieuwehuis, of the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands, says if the super volcano like the one below Yellowstone were to explode, it would obscure the sun and affect global temperatures triggering earthquakes strong enough to destroy the entire United States.

Wow, this is all overwhelming – what are we to do? Call 911? We need to dial God’s 911, Psalms 91:1! ‘Those who go to God Most High for safety will be protected by the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you. God will save you from hidden traps and from deadly diseases…and under his wings you can hide. His truth will be your shield and protection. You will not fear any danger by night or an arrow during the day. You will not be afraid of diseases that come in the dark or sickness that strikes at noon. At your side one thousand people may die, or even ten thousand right beside you, but you will not be hurt. You will only watch…’
‘The LORD is your protection; you have made God Most High your place of safety. Nothing bad will happen to you; no disaster will come to your home. He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go.’ NCV
This is the “911” I want to stand on, let’s stand together! OK? Let us keep praying and standing together!”

From the 20th – 22nd, MorningStar hosted an invitational Pastor’s “Summit.” Hundreds of leaders gathered in the lobby of the Grand Hotel to “take a stand” against the Health Care Bill. The Summit was also designed to bring Christian leaders from different denominations to seek the Lord’s direction in what they must do in order to help the church become the “salt and light” for the critical times we are living in.

Influential ministers who have their hand on the pulse of what is happening in these uncertain times spoke at the conference. Gordon Pennington, Cindy Jacobs, Bob Weiner, Samuel Rodriguez, Pastor John Kilpatrick (from the Brownsville revival of the mid 90’s), and Janet Porter, who heads up a group called Faith 2 Action f2a.org presented their insights on solving the current problems America is facing.

At the Summit, Rick Joyner introduced the “Oak Initiative,” a newly formed organization by MorningStar that encompasses starting a grassroots effort to combat the anti-Christ spirit that wants to take over America. This initiative is “a strategic network of ministries and leaders who are committed to the practical and spiritual advancement of the Kingdom of God on the earth in the midst of the great darkness of our times.” For those interested in getting involved, more information is available at: morningstarministries.org. Jim Bakker attended the Summit as a guest and gave a message to the church at the Sunday morning service.

The Cause Ministry: The Cause is reportedly in the process of moving to the mountains of North Carolina. No information has been given to the public yet as to their new location.

The Life Changes Ministries International moved into the Cause’s headquarters located in PTL’s former Wagon Wheel Restaurant. This latest ministry to move on the grounds is founded by Prophet Bob Griffin who holds nightly services and TV programs that can be accessed at: bobgriffin.org.

Freedom Christian Center, pastored by Ron Lambright*, has moved off the grounds this month. Their new location is 3578 Centre Circle, Fort Mill S.C., which is close to the old PTL grounds. Directions can be found at their web site: fccfortmill.org.

*Pastor Ron Lambright is one of the original ministers who worked for PTL.

The Towers remain dormant and unfinished. When finished, there will be approximately 250 units available. As of now, there are enough people interested in living in a unit to occupy 70% of the building. There is no information available as to when the Towers will be completed.

The Broadcast Group is busy refurbishing their property, the Barn Auditorium, and scheduling events. They hosted a conference for Z-Hop (another ministry that recently moved off the grounds) on the weekend of the 22nd. Announcements of any upcoming events by The Broadcast Group can be found on their web site: thebroadcastgroup.com.

The Upper Room: Nothing new to report this month. The Petition to save the building can be signed at: petitiononline.com.  It is disheartening to see “the most important building on the grounds” being overlooked spiritually and physically because the Upper Room is in many ways the answer to the full restoration of the land.

Sunday evening, October 4 at 6 p.m., “His Call Ministries” of Charlotte, N.C. www.hiscall.org will be holding a praise and worship service at the Broadcast Group-Complex (former PTL TV Studio). Randy Hill Ministries has advertised this event as a time of Worship and Praise calling it THE AWAKENING. This service will begin the first monthly night of worship at the TV Studio.

Randy Hill Ministries describes itself as “Bringing Covenant Living to Every Day Life!”, and can be accessed at: randyhillministries.org. Randy Hill also posts devotional messages on The Broadcast Group’s Facebook account.

Update on churches & organizations related to ministry now located on the grounds:

  1. All Nations Church
  2. World Outreach Center & Community Church (located at PTL’s former Welcome Center)
  3. MorningStar Ministries
  4. The Broadcast Group
  5. The Life Changes Ministries International
  6. Bright City Studios (located in PTL’s old Registration Office)

On the 31st, Jim Bakker spoke forcefully on his show about the Summit he attended at MorningStar last week at Heritage USA, and will be showing segments from it.
Jim Bakker’s show can be accessed at: jimbakkershow.com or it can be seen on Sky Angel, CTN (Christian Television Network), Dish Network, Direct TV and many other local Christian and secular stations throughout the country.
While at Heritage USA, Jim Bakker mentioned that he had a meeting with Dale Hill, who now owns the Barn, TV studio, and Total Learning Center. Jim Bakker and Dale Hill worked together for several years, starting Christian television shows and networks such as the 700 Club, TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), and the PTL Satellite Network (Praise the Lord Satellite Network). Jim said good things came out of the meeting, and he will be talking more about it over the next few days.

THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN THE OUTLOOK FOR THE SWINE FLU BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS:

Fox News reported on an article written by Bob Stein from The Washington Post August 25, 2009
Excerpt:

“New reports out say the Swine Flu could infect half of the United States. Presidential panel’s estimate is first to gauge possible impact of Pandemic:

Swine Flu could infect half the U.S. population this fall and winter, hospitalizing up to 1.8 million people and causing as many as 90,000 deaths – more than double the number that occur in an average flu season, according to an estimate from the presidential panel released Monday.

The virus could cause symptoms in 60 million to 120 million people, more than half of whom might seek medical attention, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology estimated in an 86-page report to the White House assessing the government’s response to the first influenza pandemic in 41 years.
Although most of the cases probably would be mild, up to 300,000 could require intensive care, which could tie up all those beds in some parts of the country at the peak of the outbreak, the council said.

The estimates mark the first time experts have released specific calculations about the possible U.S. impact of the pandemic. The “plausible scenario” is based on previous pandemics and how the swine flu behaved in the United States this spring and during the Southern Hemisphere’s winter over the past few months, said Marc Lipsitch of the Harvard School of Public Health, who helped prepare the estimate. The entire article can be accessed at: washingtonpost.com.

Mexico is one of several countries that have already experienced a huge outbreak of the Swine flu and decided to temporarily close some of its schools, businesses, churches, and other places where people gather in order to stop the spread of the disease.

The signs of the times are catching up with the Bible, and with the prophets who for a long time have predicted unprecedented turmoil, disease, famine, civil unrest, natural and man-made disasters coming upon the earth before Christ can return.

September: The Upper Room: The Petition to save the Upper Room now numbers over 400. There is still no word from the Coulstons informing the public if it has been sold. The “FOR SALE” sign in front of the Upper Room has not been taken down, and the building continues to be neglected. The petition to save the Upper Room can be signed at: petitiononline.com. May the Lord mightily bless the person (or persons) that buys the Upper Room and restores it back to its original purpose as a place of prayer.

During the month, PTL’s old Tram Stop was spruced up for MorningStar’s Harvest Fest Conference. Several volunteers from their Men’s Ministry worked tirelessly painting, repairing and cleaning the Tram Stop that is located directly across from the Grand Hotel’s front entrance. They all did a terrific job and the Tram Stop looks like new.

On the 3rd, Rick Joyner & Jim Bakker linked up another “live” phone conversation during the Jim Bakker Show. The Health Care Bill was the main subject of their discussion as Rick Joyner continued to warn people that if the Bill passes in its present form, it will cause lawlessness, rioting and the future rationing of health care across America. Rick Joyner explained that people need to get involved to help stop the Bill from passing into law. MorningStar’s newly formed “Oak Initiative” is one of the ways concerned people can become proactive. Information about the Oak Initiative can be found at: morningstarministries.org.

Jim Bakker also spoke with Dale Hill (founder of the Broadcast Group) during the month. Dale will be going up to Blue Eye, Missouri in the next few weeks to help Jim Bakker and his engineers install a new TV switcher. The old switcher recently broke down, and the newer one will enable Jim to continue broadcasting.

Raising money to keep the Jim Bakker Show on the air is still a struggle. Yet, during the worst recession in recent history, Jim Bakker continues broadcasting to the world. He is now reaching more people than at any other time in his many years on TV.

MorningStar’s Comenius grade school relocated to the warehouse/office building and opened on time. The ministry’s newly formed Daycare is scheduled to open soon, and it will be located in Comenius’ former classrooms on Main Street inside the Grand Hotel.

On the 8th, the worldwide Christian training ministry, Master’s Commission, began a new branch of its school at Morningside in Blue Eye, Missouri. Jim and Lori devoted the entire week of the “Jim Bakker Show” to the opening of the school located at Morningside’s recently built Tabernacle. The rustic log Tabernacle houses first-class dorms, classrooms, kitchen & dining room and a large sanctuary complete with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace.

One of the special guests at the grand opening was Pastor Lloyd Ziegler, the founder of Master’s Commission. There was an air of excitement surrounding the new students (numbering about 25), leaders and teachers who were all introduced to the TV audience. These young students are earnestly looking forward to “know God and make Him known.” They also will be taught broadcasting, and given opportunities to have “hands on” experience in creating new TV programs that will minister to a lost generation of young people. The Jim Bakker Show can be seen “live” every weekday at 12:00 p.m. (CST) at: jimbakkershow.com.

On 9/9/09, MorningStar Ministry called a “Solemn Assembly”, which was held in the lobby of the Heritage Grand Hotel from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Rick Joyner said that this gathering was a time set apart for repentance, fasting and prayer for their entire church body, and for the closing of one season and the opening of another. The Scripture in Joel Chapter 2 was the name given to the assembly.

People came into the hotel all hours of the day and night to repent, pray, and some members of the church gave prophetic words to encourage the body of believers. The large number of people who attended the meeting ranged from employees, members of the church and several visitors from around the area.

Bright City Studios: The pioneers of the recently opened recording studio located in PTL’s refurbished Registration Office have been working with young singers and musicians to help them develop their abilities. Leonard Jones, MorningStar’s Director of Music, pioneered the studio and its concept. Rick Joyner gave the group of young talent few restrictions about the music they produced, allowing them to reach their full creativity.

On Sunday the 20th, MorningStar’s Disaster Response held an informational class on Preparing for the Swine Flu from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Heritage Grand. The timely presentation was given by Laura Kunzie, president of Zeb Gear* located in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The class was designed to help people learn the difference between a major and a minor pandemic, and how to prepare for the current H1N1 Swine Flu.

*Zeb Gear offers protective gear, disaster supplies and training courses for responding to disasters. A DVD of Laura Kunzie’s informational class will soon be available at: zebgear.com.

During the month, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) reported as follows: “This report provides an update to the international situation as of September 18, 2009. As of September 13, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) regions have reported more than 296,471 laboratory-confirmed cases of 2009 H1N1 influenza virus (2009 H1N1) with at least 3,486 deaths, which is an increase of at least 18,864 cases and 281 deaths since September 6th.
The laboratory-confirmed cases represent a substantial underestimation of total cases in the world, as many countries focus surveillance and laboratory testing only on people with severe illness. The 2009 H1N1 influenza virus continues to be the dominant influenza virus in circulation in the world.
Since April 2009, 60.7% of influenza specimens reported to WHO were 2009 H1N1 viruses. In temperate regions of the Southern Hemisphere, disease due to 2009 H1N1 is largely declining. In tropical regions, there is still substantial disease due to 2009 H1N1. In temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, there is some increased disease activity due to 2009 H1N1, including in parts of the United States, Canada and Europe.”

Jim Bakker’s Newsletters continue to keep his partners updated on the insights he receives from the Lord.
Excerpts from a recent letter:
“…There is so much I want to talk with you about today that I hardly know where to start. My calling is to be a watchman on the wall warning of things to come. Last night, all night long in my dreams, I kept hearing the words warn the people that they must level the field. All I know is that there is a saying “start with a level playing field”, which means an equal chance for everyone.

In my dream I was in a huge field with deep holes, so dangerous that people could lose their lives. In my dream I was working to level this rough terrain, filling in deep holes. I was tired when I woke up from so much work – it seemed like something was coming and I was working against a deadline.

I realized that God was telling me to warn the Church to be fully ready because as these Revelation events start happening, there will be no time to get ready. How do you level your field? By preparing and being ready for all the things that are coming! For example, by you having water and food you will avoid the pitfall of being at the mercy of the anti Christ or world events in the last days. When you’ve “done all”, the Bible says you can stand knowing you have prepared!

Revelation 1:1 says; ‘The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew (show) unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass…’ This was written over 2000 years ago so how could these things in Revelation ‘shortly’ come to pass? This word shortly is tachos in the Greek and it means ‘a brief space of time, when started will happen suddenly.’

Think about many Revelation events all happening at the same time or quickly one after another! Earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, tsunamis, pandemic, war, hyper-inflation, Anti-Christ and the Anti-Christ spirit arising, no food to eat, terrorism, cyber attacks, asteroids, power and water outages and more. The Church needs to be ready for the harvest time, which is the time at the end of the age. Jesus said He would build His Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it!…Be sure to stock up with food, water, water filters and other things you will need in emergencies and encourage your church to do the same. Remember Psalm 91:1 and fear not – God is on your side! He loves you!”

From the 24th through the 30th, MorningStar Ministries held “back to back” conferences; the Harvest Fest conference from the 24th – 26th and Worship & Warfare conference from the 28th – 30th. There were a few thousand people who attended this gathering, one of the largest numbers to attend the fall conferences within the past few years.
Special guest speakers included Heidi Baker, Kevin Prosch, Bob Weiner, Samuel Rodriguez, Bobby Conner and Lance Wallnau.

Over thirty tents were set up in the front of the Grand Hotel during the week of the conferences so that other ministries, merchants and artists could present their talents. Among the many represented were The Broadcast Group, The World Outreach Center and Community Church (located in PTL’s former Welcome Center), Women’s Aglow, the North Carolina College of Theology in Charlotte, North Carolina and MorningStar University.

October 4th, “His Call Ministries” of Charlotte, N.C. and Randy Hill Ministries will hold a Praise and Worship Service at the Broadcast Group-Complex (former PTL TV Studio) at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Randy Hill Ministries advertised this event as THE AWAKENING.

October:
The Upper Room: There are no changes to report on the Upper Room’s fate this
month. Lately, we have noticed that more people are randomly stopping by the building to either pray, walk around it, or read the Scriptures on the Walk of Faith. A dedicated Christian and World War 11 veteran, who we have known and respected for a long time, has been faithfully praying at the Upper Room every week for over 17 years, and remains hopeful that it will not be taken down.

Since last week, a curious thing is happening near the Upper Room. There is an older man with a long gray beard standing silently for several hours a day on the corner of the new back road leading into Heritage. The stranger is holding onto a large cross and is getting the attention of many people. We don’t know why the man is here or when he will leave. Some say he is someone with a message, others say he is a “kook.” Whoever he is, this silent man makes a loud statement by holding the cross up for all to see.

On Sunday the 4th, Randy Hill Ministries’ held the first monthly Praise & Worship service. Named “The Awakening,” the entire evening was considered a success. The meeting was held by Pastor Randy Hill and the worship team “His Call” at the Broadcast Group-Complex (former PTL TV Studio).

The service itself held a touch of nostalgia for some of the former PTL Partners and employees who attended. One former PTL employee said a healing came to her heart just sitting inside the TV studio again. The atmosphere reminded her of years past, and she and her husband actually felt as though they were “coming home.” The next meeting is planned for Sunday evening, November 8th, and Pastor Hill is going to continue the services believing there is soon coming a “great awakening” of God’s people.

During the month, MorningStar continued on with church services and outreach ministries. Rick Joyner encouraged people to get involved with the newly formed Oak Initiative. Details of Rick Joyner’s prophetic view of current events and the “Oak Initiative” are available at: morningstarministries.org.

At the October 11th Sunday morning service at MorningStar, Rick Joyner said he had been up most of the night because the Lord revealed to him that there is coming a huge outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the grounds of Heritage. Through a vision he received years ago, when he and his family came back to Charlotte, coupled with the new revelation he received from the Lord during the night, he said that “three major worldwide ministries” would be joining together on the grounds of Heritage USA.

Since the inception of the vision, Rick Joyner and a close associate likened it to a cord of three strands which cannot be easily broken. For years they have been saying, “3 for 1,” while waiting for the Lord to reveal where the property is located for these “three worldwide ministries.” Over the years, each time a new ministry moved to the area they wondered if it was part of the vision.

“It has not happened yet,” Rick Joyner said with emotion while stating that the “joining together” of these three ministries would be on a property having “three flagpoles.” It was not until 4 AM Sunday morning when he realized it was the Heritage property, and the “three flagpoles” in the vision are located at “the old entrance to PTL.”

Rick Joyner also said the Oak Initiative would be a part of it, and he was overwhelmed to realize that the Heritage property is the place the Lord is going to use for this mighty outpouring of His spirit. Rick Joyner added, “This is just now coming to pass… I did not know it was the Heritage property… We haven’t seen anything yet… The Spirit is coming upon us!”

On the 12th, MorningStar leaders Jason Hooper and David Yearns were guests on the Jim Bakker Show in Blue Eye, Missouri. David Yearns, the man in charge of restoring the Towers at Heritage USA, showed the audience a picture of an artist’s rendition of how the Towers will look when completed. In spite of the delays, MorningStar plans to finish this massive project in the near future.

During the show, Jim Bakker asked Jason Hooper to minister to the audience. As Jason Hooper began ministering, the presence of God showed up. This sudden move of God continued on long after the TV show ended. As it turned out, Jason Hooper, who was scheduled to stay for one day, ended up staying for a full week at Morningside.

The services went on every night at 7 P.M. and continued until after 1 A.M. After a few days, Jason Hooper lost count of how many people received healings, were filled with the Holy Spirit, or delivered from strongholds in their lives. At the end of the week, Jim Bakker said, “This revival is just the beginning, and we plan to have more prophetic leaders come to minister at Morningside, including Robin McMillan, Rick Joyner and others.”

Toward the end of the month, Dale Hill (founder of The Broadcast Group) flew up to Blue Eye, Missouri to help Jim Bakker’s engineers replace Morningside’s worn out TV switcher with a newer one. After many long hours of working on the project, the new switcher went into operation October 27th, delivering a much clearer and brighter picture for the Jim Bakker Show and Morningside’s Internet outreach. Jim Bakker and Dale Hill’s friendship dates back to the earliest years of Christian television.

During the month, the ongoing biblical “signs of the times” spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24 continue to increase. Jim Bakker reports daily on the current events that are happening around the world, making everyone aware of the times we are living in. Stating the Bible points to a certain generation who will actually see the return of the Lord, Jim referred to Jesus’ words from the Book of Matthew speaking of the “generation” who will witness the Lord’s sudden return:

“Now learn a lesson of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putted forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
Matthew 24: 33-34 (King James Version)

The Living Bible translates the same Scripture as follows:

“Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When her branch is tender and the leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is almost here. Just so, when you see all these things beginning to happen, you can know that my return is near, even at the doors. Then at last this age will come to its close.”
Matthew 24: 33-34 (The Living Bible)

No one knows the day or the hour that Jesus will return, but we can pray for wisdom to not be deceived about the season in which we now live.

Being prophetically gifted is scriptural, but many Christians often shy away from this gifting, not having been taught about it.

The Bible clearly says,

To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; someone else may be especially good at studying and teaching, and this is his gift from the same Spirit. He gives special faith to another and to someone else the power to heal the sick. He gives one person the power to do miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. 1 Corinthians 12:8 (TLB)

Having the ability to prophesy is both a great and a terrible gift. It takes a great amount of faith and intimacy with the Lord to proclaim the words, “The Lord showed me…” Too many Christians who do not believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit discount anything being said by someone who says they hear from God. On the other hand, there are many who say they have heard from the Lord when He has not spoken to them at all. The way to know if someone has a true word from the Lord is to test the prophecy. Since 1999, we have listened guardedly to Jim Bakker’s prophecies, especially the 31 things the Lord showed him in April of 1999. So far he has not been wrong, and he has proven himself to have a God-given ability to foresee future events.

At the past New Years Eve church service at Morningside, Jim Bakker said the Lord showed him that an EVENT is going to happen “this year” that will cause people to be cloistered in their homes, unable to go to work. The Lord was clear about the word cloistered, which means confined within walls. Jim has been frequently warning people to be prepared both physically and spiritually for this EVENT, not knowing exactly what it will look like.

Since January, Rick and I have documented many of the times that Jim has talked about the EVENT on this Time Line. As the year is drawing to an end, the following reports beg the question, “Is the H1N1 Swine Flu the EVENT that is “right now” causing many people to be “confined within walls?”

November / December: On Sunday, November 8th, there was another Praise & Worship service held inside PTL’s former TV Studio. It was an inspirational evening as “His Call Ministries” and Pastor Randy Hill blended anointed worship music with a hope filled message. If anyone lives in the area, it would be well worth attending the next meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 6 P.M.

The Upper Room:
One year ago, the Upper Room was scheduled to be taken
down. A developer actually started clearing the land next to the building to make room for new housing. The deep marks from the bulldozers can still be seen just a few feet away from the Upper Room’s parking lot. The builders stopped clearing the land a few months later, apparently abandoning the project for now. If ever there was a sign that God’s hand is still on the Upper Room, surely the bulldozers stopping so close to destroying it is one.

Almost simultaneously, in January of this year, a petition to save the Upper Room was started on the Internet by a Dorothy Wilson, who is a dedicated 99 year old Christian woman, proving that no one is too old to make a difference.

The petition has since grown to over 446 signatures and counting. Many who signed the petition have shared their heartfelt concern over the Upper Room’s preservation and continue to pray for a MIRACLE.

On December 6th, MorningStar will be hosting a FREE Christmas concert given by country singing artist Ricky Scaggs, and his family, in the lobby of the Grand Hotel at 6:30 P.M. ALL ARE WELCOME! The Grand Hotel is being decorated for Christmas and, as of the writing of this update, it looks beautiful.

During the month, at Morningside in Blue Eye, Missouri, Jim Bakker announced he is launching a new network on the Internet. Jim named the twenty-four hour a day network, “NOW Network.” The programming will be created by the Master’s Commission students at Blue Eye, and will eventually include students of Master’s Commission schools located around the world. The students at Morningside are using their creative ideas to produce “live” programs that will reach young people who either left the church, given up on God, or just don’t believe in anything. The new program called, “SafeLock,” was named by the students and airs each weekday night at 10 P.M. (CST) on jimbakkershow.com.

During November, Jim Bakker continued teaching from the Book of Revelation. The lessons can be seen on Thursday nights at 7 P.M. (CST). There is no doubt that Jim believes we are “right now” living in the perilous times the Bible speaks of. Every day on Jim’s show, he reports news from around the world pointing to Jesus’ soon return. Though the signs of the times are everywhere, Jim continues saying that most people do not fully understand the dire straits America is in, both spiritually and economically.

During the month, Morningside also broadcasted updates on the H1N1 Swine Flu, which has recently made news again. Click on the following to see the latest reports:

During the month, Rick Joyner sent out the following report: “Discerning the Times, Part 58 (Week 48, 2009)
If our theology of the kingdom is correct, then a biblical worldview will essentially be a kingdom worldview. Jesus came to preach the kingdom, and He gave us that same commission. He said that this had to be accomplished before the end of this age could come.

We must always keep in mind that gospel means “good news,” and that our message is the good news of the coming kingdom, not the bad news that many promote about the prophesied troubles at the end of this age. These troubles will come, and they are written so that we can be prepared for them. However, this must not be our main message, but rather the solution to all of man’s troubles will be His return to establish His kingdom of righteousness, justice and peace on the earth.

Let us also continually keep in mind that even though it may seem that evil is prevailing for a time, it will not ultimately prevail, but will be utterly destroyed from the earth.

We should also keep in mind that the Lord could have thrown the devil into the lake of fire and taken His authority over the earth immediately after His resurrection, but He didn’t for our sakes. This whole age is “training for reigning”: for those who are called to be His joint heirs. So do not waste your trials; they are tests which are meant to mature you in His ways.

The devil does have a boast; God’s crowning creation, when given the choice between obeying God or following the devil, chose to follow the devil, even though man was living in a perfect environment. However, the father will have the final boast because the bride of “the last Adam,” Christ, even though living in the darkest of times with all of hell and earth opposing, will choose to obey and follow God. This will be the ultimate witness to the principalities and powers which are doomed—that the truth of God will prevail over all of the devil’s lies.

Every time we are tested and choose to obey rather than give in to sin or temptation, our spiritual authority is strengthened, and we are helping a little more to prepare the way for the Lord and His kingdom. Always keep in mind that if the Lord did not want us to be tempted He could have removed the tempter, but He didn’t for our sakes. We should seize every opportunity to grow in Christ by taking up our crosses daily and following His example to die to ourselves so that we might be used to bring life to others.”

Historically, this was the time of year during the 1980’s when PTL’s “Christmas City” opened. From November through January, tens of thousands of people drove through PTL’s monumental light display celebrating the birth of Christ. Every night cars filled with friends and families from the area patiently waited in a line of traffic that stretched for two miles; from the entrance of Heritage USA to Interstate 77.
Months of tireless work by PTL’s staff and volunteers created a color filled Christmas wonderland. These dedicated people collectively arranged over two million lights by lining them on Heritage USA’s roadways, decorating hundreds of trees and garnishing the many ministry buildings. The massive light arrangements and displays lit up the grounds so much so that no one ever needed to have their car headlights on. Even the tram stops were framed in lights.

As people slowly drove through pristine landscapes filled with colorful holiday arrangements, they were always pleasantly surprised, making a second trip almost a necessity to take in the splendor of the season. PTL’s light displays were so amazing the TV cameras and local newspapers could not capture all the beauty and attention to detail the ministry paid to its entire presentation.

In addition to the sights, there were the sounds of carolers singing on Main Street inside the Grand Hotel where a huge, beautifully decorated Christmas tree stood in the middle of the lobby. The most skeptical and downhearted people felt the warmth of God’s presence, and they sensed the real meaning of the Christmas season inside PTL’s awesome atmosphere.

Lately while driving around Heritage USA, I thought of how it used to be back in the day as I glanced at some of the trees on a back road and noticed that they, along with a few of the old tram stops, still have a few broken strands of the original Christmas lights hanging from them.

Heritage USA’s landscape is now a complicated mixture of PTL’s past and future.
Remembering the way things were stirs up sadness as well as hope. There are those who have always believed that the Lord will make beauty out of the ashes of its fall in 1987, restoring God’s love over every inch of the grounds. The spiritual battles revolving around the property have been many, and they continue on to this day. Though the enemies are strong, hope still reigns in the indelible memories of what many called, “a little slice of Heaven.”

Realistically, the Christmas decorations were fabulous, but it was the tangible presence of God that drew six million visitors during the year. Imagine multitudes returning to Heritage USA someday; returning not to see Christmas lights, which were beautiful, or to have a place to vacation, which was great, rather because the Glory of God is once again raining down from Heaven on these hallowed grounds.  It was the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ going out over the airways that made Heritage USA shine across the world. Until the Lord graces the grounds with His glory again, it is a “wait and see” experience that Rick and I live out every day. We continue to believe God for a full-circle restoration, not knowing exactly what that will look like. We also hold on to a vision that defies the evidence…believing God for something that is still unseen, which is what “faith” is.

2009 brought together more pieces of the complicated “puzzle of restoration” as we learned the good news of Dale Hill’s purchase of the Barn Auditorium, TV Studio and the Total Leaning Center. Dale Hill told us that he had been trying for years to make the purchase, outlasting several other interested people. Against all odds, there is once again anointed praise and worship music coming from that area, and it will hopefully continue on with God’s blessing.

As another year passes into history, Rick and I pray that the Lord will cause a coming together of all Christians on the grounds, which would honor Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
(John 17:11 KJV)

Jesus also said, in Matthew 18:19, “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”

Let’s agree that 2010 brings about a GREAT AWAKENING in America, and that God’s will for Heritage USA will continue to be fulfilled. Amen!

At the end of 2009:

Overall, the grounds of the former Heritage USA are well kept, and it is a beautiful place to live. There are still certain areas and buildings that need to be restored, and though the progress is slow, Heritage has come a long way over the past five years. The following are some of the latest updates:

  • The Amphitheatre remains dismantled; the parking lot is now a storage area for heavy equipment and trucks.
  • The Upper Room remains for sale and is in need of repair.
  • There has been little progress during the year in restoring the Towers.
  • New home construction on the grounds remains sluggish.
  • The Barn Auditorium is being finished on the inside and will be used for events that will be posted by the Broadcast Group.
  • The TV Studio and Total Learning Center are in good condition and the grounds around the buildings have been beautifully landscaped.
  • The 14+ acres in front of the Heritage Grand Hotel where the Heritage Island Water Park stood remains vacant and for sale.
  • Recreation Village: The property Recreation Village stood on is cleared and remains unused.
  • The large Tram Stop in front of the Heritage Grand Hotel has been painted and looks good.
  • A new public school opened in August on the acreage where Farmland once stood.
  • The castle shaped building that was to be the location of the largest Wendy’s in America in 1987 has yet to be repaired.
  • There are many for-sale signs in and around the Heritage property as a result of the Recession.
