~January~
On New Year’s Eve, Russell James and Bishop Ron Lambright conducted the Upper Room Chapel’s beautiful Candlelight Communion Service. At midnight, Communion was served and each person who attended was personally prayed for.

During the month, the large black trailer was removed from the Upper Room’s property to clear the way for additional parking space. Once all the paperwork is completed and approved by York County, it won’t be long before there will be a beautiful parking lot added to the side of the Upper Room to accommodate many more cars.

TOWERS UPDATE: The construction of the Towers ended in 1987. Below is one of the last pictures taken of it being worked on.

The building is coming up on the 30th anniversary of it lying dormant. Only time will tell if it will be finished as MorningStar Ministries has planned to do since 2005, or it will be demolished. MorningStar Ministries has been in litigation with York County for several years over this situation with no end in sight. The following article was posted on Legasee Publishing in February 2015 and bears repeating.
Could the PTL Towers be a Prophetic Symbol?
For nearly three decades the Towers has remained unfinished no matter who has owned Heritage USA. As homeowners living on the grounds, Rick & I can relate to the feelings of frustration over this deteriorating building that has become an eyesore to residents in and around our community.
As we have written time and again, the Towers should have been completed long ago. To be fair to Rick Joyner, it isn’t necessarily his fault. Looking at the situation from a spiritual perspective, there may be a deeper reason, or even a mystery, why the 21-story building remains stagnated in time.
In 1986, when the Towers was just a few months away from completion, the late David Wilkerson, Pastor of the Times Square Church in New York City, (www.tscnyc.org) observed that, over time, the PTL Ministry had moved from the “Spirit” into the “Flesh” and its theme was leaning toward a prosperity message.
While Heritage USA was exploding with success, Pastor Wilkerson openly voiced his opposition to the prosperity message. Looking ahead in time, he saw that as a result of PTL losing its original vision, Jim Bakker would be reproved and the Towers would not be completed as planned. Pastor Wilkerson went as far as prophesying that birds/bats would be flying in and out of the Towers until the ministry changed course.
At the time, David Wilkerson’s words seemed totally absurd because in 1986 six-million people visited Heritage USA. However, his prophetic words have since become a reality to Pastor Jim. To this day, the Towers building remains unfinished with birds/bats continually flying in and out of the top floors.
The simple truth is only God has control over when or if the Towers will be completed. Long after Jim Bakker left PTL he said that Heritage USA had turned into a “monster” that caused him to have to raise $1 million every two days just to keep it alive!
If Rick Joyner and Earl Coulston had not moved on the grounds in 2004, sections of Heritage USA would not have been refurbished and the many new subdivisions would not exist. Though the grounds were totally reconfigured, acreage sold off and a full restoration did not happen, if these men did not purchase the complex, there would be absolutely nothing left of Heritage USA. On the other hand, disappointment and frustration have been experienced by many families who purchased new homes on the grounds with unfulfilled promises of a shopping mall, restaurants, pristine parks and the removal of the Towers.
There really isn’t a logical answer as to why the Towers has not been completed and has literally defied every effort of restoration. After decades of watching some very sincere people with the funds to finish the Towers fail miserably, is it possible that this building could very well be symbolic of the condition of today’s churches?
When Jim Bakker visited the grounds a few years ago, he actually stated that the unfinished building is a “symbol of the condition of today’s churches” that are teaching people more about how to get “rich” than how to get “saved.” Jim Bakker now continually denounces the prosperity message, which he admittedly was a part of toward the end of his tenure at Heritage USA. He rebukes those leaders who teach more about prosperity than about salvation on his TV program The Jim Bakker Show. In Jim Bakker’s recent books, Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse and Time Has Come, he brings to light the truth about what the Lord actually says about money.
When Pastor Jim was incarcerated in 1989, he desperately wanted to know why he was imprisoned because he knew he was not guilty of the charges that landed him there. After seeking the Lord, Jim was shown in a vivid dream that God wanted him to see things through His eyes and have an intimate relationship with Him so that he would know God’s voice. Instantly, Jim Bakker understood that he needed to study the entire Bible.
This started Pastor Jim on a long journey of researching the Bible that included taking “every word” back to the language it was originally written in. He actually studied the Bible for the entire time he was in prison, sometimes for sixteen hours a day! This in-depth study helped him to cultivate an intimate relationship with the Lord. Now, Jim Bakker realizes that his time in prison, though unfair, actually worked for his good because he built up a strong relationship with the Lord and he learned many spiritual truths that he never fully understood.
It was a turning point in Jim Bakker’s life when he realized that God had nothing good to say about money! In fact, according to the Bible, he found out that “the love of money is the root of ALL evil.” After being released from prison in 1994, Jim Bakker wrote a book about the journey that led him to understanding the inaccuracies of the prosperity message titling it, I WAS WRONG.
Jim Bakker’s statement about the Towers being symbolic of the condition of many of today’s churches lines up with the amazing revelations in Rabbi Jonathan Cahn’s* 2012 mega-bestselling book THE HARBINGER. This humble, messianic rabbi discovered startling mysteries in the Book of Isaiah that reveals the possible reason for the 2001 attacks on America that included the Twin Towers in New York City being destroyed. In his book, Rabbi Cahn carefully lays out why he sees judgment coming to America if God’s people do not return to His rules of order.

THE HARBINGER gives an account of how the people of ancient Israel went away from the Lord. God continually warned them to return to His rules of order, but when they refused to acknowledge Him and continued to ignore His warnings, God allowed Israel’s enemies to attack!
The attack was brief, limited and left the nation of Israel shaken, but the people did not turn back to the Lord. As they walked through the rubble of their fallen buildings after this brief attack, they said with pride and arrogance, “These bricks have fallen, but we will build again with cut stones. These small trees have been chopped down, but we will put great cedars there.” Isaiah 9:10 NCV
Ancient Israel’s arrogance ultimately led to more attacks by their enemies and yet they still did not turn from their sins and false gods. So, the Lord finally allowed Israel to be destroyed!
Rabbi Cahn says the spiritual condition of America is similar to that of ancient Israel. Both nations were dedicated to God and turned away from Him by eliminating Him from their culture. Though God has continually warned America to turn back to Him through a series of harbingers (warnings) since 2001, most continue on their own way. THE HARBINGER is a powerful account of what is happening to America and could very well apply to the Towers being a prophetic symbol of today’s churches that teach a prosperity gospel.

When the Towers was first being constructed, Jim Bakker likened the building to the Twin Towers in New York City because the building appears to be two separate buildings joined in the middle by a wall, thus the building’s name was pluralized by him.
The Villas at Regent Park should be ready for occupancy sometime this year. There are six units with approximately thirty apartments in each. They recently built a clubhouse for the complex and are planning to put in a swimming pool beside it. These apartments were constructed on one of PTL’s overflow parking lots at the intersection of Regent Parkway and Starlight Drive.

On the 8th, Fox News reported: “4 killed, 15 wounded as truck rams into Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem.” Security camera footage shown on Israeli Channel 2 TV showed the truck barreling at a high speed off the road and into the crowd of people in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood.”

On the 10th, Fox News reported: “Iran set to receive huge shipments of natural uranium from Russia amid lawmakers’ concerns.” Iran is set to receive a massive shipment of natural uranium from Russia – enough, potentially, for several bombs, diplomats said Monday.

10. Abounding Grace Church meets in the Mulberry I & II of the Heritage Grand on Sunday mornings at 11 A.M. In the summer of 2013 God began to put the birthing of a church on the hearts of Pastors Michael and Nicole Carson. After much prayer and fasting, Abounding Grace Church was birthed in February 2014. This is God’s church where all are welcome. It is a Full Gospel Non-Denominational Church with a Pentecost experience.

During the first three weeks of February, Jim & Lori Bakker went away on a three week sabbatical. Pastor Jim was ordered by his doctor to take a vacation/rest because he had been working around the clock for the past six months helping Donald Trump to win the Presidential Election and totally wore himself out. Not only did he work tirelessly on the election, but he stopped raising the necessary funds for his own ministry. He believed that this election was that important!
In order to combat the large financial loss, Pastor Jim decided while he was gone he would televise a ‘live’ three week ‘Restoration Marathon Telethon’ airing 24 hours a day. Tammy Sue Bakker hosted the telethon along with staff members that included Michael Snyder, Mondo De La Vega, Zach Drew and Sasha Volz along with several special guest speakers like Philip Cameron, all taking turns on rotating every three hours. Over two million dollars was raised with contributions continuing to come in.
A spirit of comradery was experienced at Morningside throughout the three weeks, bringing the anointing of the Holy Spirit reminiscent of back in the day when the PTL Ministry held their fundraisers at Heritage USA.
~A look back~
In March of 2012, during a taping of the Jim Bakker Show, Tammy Sue Bakker surprised her Dad when she visited him at Morningside in Blue Eye, Missouri. It was a precious moment to see Tammy Sue and Jim Bakker together publicly for the first time in many years. This was also the first time Tammy Sue visited her Dad’s ministry since Tammy Faye passed in 2007. What an incredibly miraculous moment of healing for the whole Bakker family. Tammy Sue went on to move to Branson, Missouri where she continues to serve the Lord.
Jim Bakker wrote shortly after this reunion:
“Today, March 8, 2012, I received the shock of my life when my daughter, Tammy Sue Bakker, came to Morningside and surprised me on-stage when she entered from the Green Room singing ‘The Blood.’
Tammy Sue has not been in the public eye for 8 years, but today her amazing anointing and her beautiful voice has never been more powerful! She may have been silent for a season, but her astounding voice is silent no more!
I believe with all my heart that God has brought Tammy Sue home to me “for such a time as this.”
My heart rejoices.

On the 5th, Fox News reported: “Town takes stand after mayor forced to remove Christian flag.” A Mississippi town rallied Saturday after its mayor said he was forced to remove a Christian flag following the threat of a lawsuit by an atheist organization, WREG reported.

On the 12th, Fox News reported: “Aftershocks rattle survivors after Philippine quake kills 8.” Philippine officials on Sunday warned survivors of a powerful earthquake that left at least eight people dead in the country’s south to ensure their homes and buildings are sturdy enough before venturing back amid continuing aftershocks.

On the 24th, Fox News reported: “Christians flee Egypt’s Sinai after militant killings.” Suspected Islamic militants gunned down a Christian man inide his home in northern Sinai, officials and a priest said Friday, the latest in a string of sectarian killings that has sent hundreds of Christians fleeing and raised accusations the government is failing to protect the community.

Spring seemed to arrive a little earlier this year as construction on the grounds continues at a rapid pace. The whole area where the Regent Park Golf Clubhouse stood has been cleared for the development of the new Pike View Townhomes, which will be built on part of the old golf course and open sometime in the fall.
From the 2nd- 4th MorningStar Ministry hosted “Worship Collective 17,” a special musical conference that included guests Jason Upton, Sean Feucht, Rick Pino, Stephen Roach, Suzy Yaraei and Kelanie Gloeckler.
This meeting was for music worship leaders and anyone interested in becoming one. They had breakout sessions during the afternoons for music leaders and songwriters along with guidance from the special guests and MorningStar’s music staff.

Upper Room: Russell James planted four hundred Daffodil bulbs last fall in an area near the Upper Room and named it Daffodil Valley. These Daffodils are now in full bloom adding more vivid color to the property. Russell is always improving the grounds and it is a beautiful place to visit. Also, Fred Yeary planted Daffodils around each Scripture on the Walk of Faith. God Bless everyone who labors to keep the Upper Room in pristine condition.
On March 31st, the Upper Room Chapel prepared for the annual “Bike Blessing” held from 10am – 12pm on April 1st. Each year the Christian Motorcycle Association of Rock Hill (CMA – Warriors of Fire) ministers to bikers that stop by for free coffee and doughnuts. Some people stop by just to enjoy each other’s company, and members of the Upper Room’s Prayer Team are available for anyone requesting prayer.

Over the last seven years we have worshipped, prayed, and studied the Word together. We have seen salvations, healings and lives changed and we thank God for all His blessings. On the 26th we will celebrate one last time His goodness and grace. Our hearts rejoice for what He has done and we anticipate with hope what He will do next.
On Sunday night the 26th, A Commissioning Service was held for Pastor Hill and his wife Bonnie as this was their last night at the Upper Room. He, along with his wife and family were celebrated and prayed for by Pastor Ron Lambright, Russell James and all those in attendance. It was a time of reflection and anticipation as they are looking with hope filled hearts as to what door the Lord will open for them as they move on.

During the month, Jim & Lori returned from their sabbatical and invited Pastor John Shorey, Author of The Window of the Lord’s Return 2012- 2020, to be a guest on the show. Over the following days John Shorey discussed several subjects including how he believes we are to still be vigilant about the times we are living in and to not stop being aware that we are in the last days and are in perilous times.
~A look back~
It has been 30 years since Jim Bakker resigned and Heritage USA switched hands. The PTL Story is complicated and there are so many pieces to the story that it is difficult to tell fully. On the 17th, Bloomberg News reported: “Bird Flu hits another Tennessee chicken farm linked to Tyson.” A second case of bird flu in Tennessee has been reported at a chicken farm, heightening the threat from the disease in the U.S. southeast, the country’s biggest poultry region.

On the 23rd, Fox News reported: “London terror attack: ISIS claims responsibility for deadly rampage outside Parliament building.” The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the terror attack that left four people dead, including the assailant and a police officer, outside of London’s Parliament building on Wednesday, according to the Amaq media agency.

From the 6th – 8th MorningStar Ministries and the Elijah List held a “Heaven Culture” conference “Bringing Heaven to Earth Now.”
Speakers & Worship Leaders were; Steve Shultz, Kat Kerr, Rick Joyner, Bobby Conner, Amber Brooks, Don Potter, David Vallier and Andrew Williams
At this particular conference, Don Potter ministered in songs of worship and infused the atmosphere with God’s presence. Many people were visibly moved feeling God’s powerful anointing.

On Easter Sunday the 16th, services were held at MorningStar Ministries and included a special early morning service at the new Bob Jones Vision Center across the roadway from the hotel. Easter Services in the many churches located on the grounds brought many hundreds of people together to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord.

On the 10th, the New York Times reported: “Attacks show ISIS’ new plan: divide Egypt by killing Christians.” Grief and rage flowed through Egypt’s Christian community on Monday as tear-streaked mourners buried the victims of the coordinated Palm Sunday church bombings that killed 45 people in two cities.

On the 14th, Fox News reported: “Christian Persecution: How many are being killed, where they are being killed.” This past Palm Sunday was a dark day in Egypt. Suicide bombings at two Coptic Christian churches, one in Alexandria and the other in Tanta left 45 people dead and many more wounded.

On the 13th, MorningStar University held its 2017 Commencement ceremony in the Heritage Grand Hotel. Rick Joyner gave the commencing address to both MorningStar College of Leadership and MorningStar College of Theology graduates.
There were 28 first and second-year graduates from the Leadership College and 77 Theology graduates. The Leadership College offers 1st and 2nd-year certificates, while the Theology College offers Associate, Bachelor, Master I & 11, Doctorate and Ph.D. degrees.
There were a number of students from Poland, South Africa, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas who traveled from their home countries to MorningStar to receive their degrees. Those students who could not travel from outside the country were awarded their degrees on-line.
God Bless all these dedicated students as they go forward to serve the Lord in many dangerous places throughout the world. Some of the students will actually be in areas where ISIS is persecuting Christians. Please keep these brave men and women in your prayers as they courageously face the enemies of the Gospel.

On the 14th, As most churches in the area did on Mothers Day, Antioch International Church also honored all mothers during their Sunday morning service. Pastor Peter Wyns prayed a special blessing over all the mothers and women in the church and then presented them with a special gift.

On the 26th, Fox News reported: “Egypt attack: Gunfire on bus carrying Coptic Christians kills at least 26.” A team of gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying Coptic Christians south of Cairo Friday, killing at least 26 people, including children, and wounding 25 other people, Egyptian officials confirmed.

The former Regent Park Golf Course is rapidly being developed to make room for the new Pike View Townhomes, which are scheduled to be coming in the fall of 2017. Little by little most of the open spaces left on the grounds are slowly disappearing as a number of developers continue building homes.
The Welcome Center, WOC building, Heritage Grand Hotel, Upper Room, Barn Auditorium, TV Studio, campgrounds, chalets around Heritage Lake, the refurbished Tram Stop (now the Bob Jones Vision Center), two of the original PTL Bunkhouses, the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and the Campgrounds Registration Office are amongst the PTL buildings that remain.
From June 5th – 8th, MorningStar Fellowship of Ministries hosted their annual retreat called “Sons & Daughters II – Building Blocks in the Prophetic.” This conference is for Leaders, Pastors, and Intercessors who want to go deeper with the Lord. They received healing and prophetic ministry from the MorningStar teams.

On the 11th, The Comenius School for Creative Leadership (CSCL) held their 2017 graduation, graduating 19 students. The vision for the Comenius School is to help raise up the next generation of leaders in the church and the world. This school ranks as one of the best in the Carolinas.
During the month of July, MorningStar Ministries will be closed for its annual sabbatical. Each year Rick Joyner encourages the members of his congregation to visit other churches, go on a mission trip if possible, and seek the Lord for direction.
From the 19th – 23rd the Upper Room hosted Mary Green’s “Vacation Bible School” Kingdom Kids Conference in the lower level.
For the fourth year Mary Greene, leader of the ‘A Call to Worship’ services, hosted a week long program for children from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Along with other qualified leaders, the team taught the children who God really is as the King of kings, what worship is like in Heaven, what the Kingdom of God really is, how to hear God’s voice, and how to become sons and daughters of the King.
The eager children grew in the knowledge of the Lord as they learned about the power of the spoken Word as a sword, prayer, worship and sharing God’s love. At the end of the program, each child was prayed for and then released to bring the Kingdom of God into their homes, schools, and neighborhoods. God Bless Mary Green and all the volunteers that sacrifice their time and talent to offer this fantastic children’s Bible program at the Upper Room each year.

A typical day watching the PTL Show back in the 1980’s was filled with a variety of guests and singers. Jim Bakker & Tammy Faye always directed the whole show to be centered on Jesus. Millions of people were brought to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through their unique ministry.

On the 19th, Fox News reported: “London van attack: One dead as police investigate incident as terrorism.” The man suspected of mowing down a crowd exiting Ramadan prayers at a London mosque early Monday was captured on video blowing a kiss at bystanders as he was hauled off to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

MorningStar Ministries closed the month of July for their annual sabbatical. The next service was scheduled for Sunday, August 6th. July is set aside for members, employees and volunteers to rest, visit other churches, go on a vacation or volunteer for a mission trip.
MorningStar’s Mission Trip:
During the summer, Jorge Parrott, Missions Director for MorningStar Ministries, took a small team to Southeast Asia. It is sobering to realize there are parts of the world that have no other means of hearing the Gospel unless missionaries are sent. These people do not have access to even a radio. God Bless the missionaries who literally risk their lives bringing the Gospel to those who have never heard it before and to the Christians living in restricted countries that need encouragement.
Jorge Parrott writes the following talking about one of the many special days on this trip:
“Another amazing day seeing transformed lives. We met many young leaders, former drug addicts, who have been delivered from opium, cocaine and heroin and healing others, led by the loving hands and hearts of Aung and Phyu, who teach them and put them to work in businesses in their compound in a market mall building. Also met with good friends who are pastors and leaders in Thailand who attended MorningStar University College of Theology, http://MSUTheology.org. So blessed and enjoying the Lord’s presence.”

The Life of a Disciple–The Book of Revelation

This week we will cover Revelation 10:8-11:
Then the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.”
So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he said to me, “Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”
I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
So they said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”
The prophet Ezekiel was also told to eat the book, and then to go and speak to the people. It is required of prophets that they themselves partake of the Word and digest it so that it is part of them before they speak it to others.
Pseudo prophets often proclaim judgments and condemnation on others as if they themselves are different and righteous. Biblical prophets used the term “we” when confessing the sins of the people. Biblical prophets did not stand apart from the people, but as one of them, interceding for them. This is the nature of Christ, who became one of us and identified Himself as “The Son of Man” so that He could be the true Mediator for man.
Christians are called to be the salt and light of the world, so if the world has fallen to corruption and darkness in our times, it has been on our watch. We cannot compromise the truth and fail to proclaim the certain consequences of the evil and perversion growing in our time. To be true messengers of Christ, we must, like Him, identify with the people and be willing to lay down our lives for them.
Only the death of Christ, the perfect Lamb of God, can be the propitiation for sin. Our death, whether it is dying daily as we are called to do, or our ultimate death, is the result of standing for the truth. It is the witness of the cross that will inevitably result in the salvation of others.
Just before the Lord was taken up into heaven, He said to His disciples, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The Greek word translated “witnesses” in this text is martus, from which we derive the English word “martyr.” We are all called to be martyrs every day.
Jesus commanded His disciples to take up their crosses and die daily. All but one ended their lives by being executed for their unrelenting declaration of the Gospel. John, the one whose death is not recorded, suffered repeated attempts to execute him, but even when they boiled him in oil he was not harmed, and they could not kill him. This is why he was exiled to the Isle of Patmos.
The life of a disciple would seem like a hard one, but it is actually the ultimate life. As the Lord taught, “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 16:25). When we lay down our own lives and interests for the sake of serving the Lord, we will live the greatest, most noble lives. We join the greatest adventure found in this life, and we enter an eternal fellowship with the greatest souls that have walked the earth.
The true life of discipleship is also the most freedom we can experience in this life. If we are dead to this world, what can the world do to us? A dead man has no fear and cannot be controlled by the desires and passions of this world. Just as Jesus said that He had food to eat that they did not know about, what sustains the disciples is the bread of heaven, and their fellowship is a heavenly one in the presence of the King of kings.

From the 24th-26th, MorningStar Ministries held its Wild Love ’17 conference, with special guest speakers including Worship Leader Misty Edwards, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and Missionary Heidi Baker. Special worship leaders included Hunter Thompson, David Bradshaw and musicians who were there for this three-day event that brought together 1300 people. Main Street and the Ballroom were open for the overflow.

On the 11th, Reuters reported: “Magnitude 6.2 quake hits Philippine island of Luzon, jolts buildings.” An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hit the Philippines’ northern island of Luzon on Friday and was felt in the capital Manila, shaking buildings and forcing the evacuation of offices and schools.

On the 8th, MorningStar Ministries opened their doors once again to evacuees from a senior care facility on Hilton Head Island S.C. This year there were over 400 patients and health care workers that had to evacuate from The Cypress of Hilton Head retirement community because of the monstrous Hurricane Irma.

“The Heritage Conference Center in Fort Mill on Friday afternoon was welcoming 405 residents of The Cypress of Hilton Head retirement community.
Last year, we welcomed 385 Cypress members in October, said Erika Robinson, general manager at Heritage, referring to Hurricane Matthew, which battered South Carolina last year. “They stayed for 11 days. Now nearly a year later, we are geared up, and our staff is ready to welcome them back. It feels like a family reunion.”

On the 15th, MorningStar Ministries hosted a Community Outreach named, “Food Truck Friday.” Three food trucks offering a variety of barbeque pork, chicken, and ribs along with other vendors serving a number of sandwiches, desserts and snow cones accompanied by pleasantly warm weather made for a good time.
Live music was provided by Music Director Leonard Jones and some of his students from MSU School of Music, and an inspiring message preached by Lead Pastor Justin Perry of MorningStar blessed the atmosphere. Hundreds of people came out to enjoy this pleasant evening. All in all it was a successful outreach.
Upper Room – The following are Russell James’ plans for the upcoming months.
1. The 7th Anniversary of the re-opening of the Upper Room will be on Saturday 12/2/17 at 1 p.m. with refreshments to follow in the lower level.
This years special guest will be Lee Young, former PTL singer.
2. Christmas Day: the Upper Room will be open from noon until…for anyone with no plans for the day and would enjoy some fellowship. Doug and Sandy Perrone have been hosting this event for a few years, and many people have been blessed by this outreach.
3. Bishop Ron Lambright and Rev. Russell James will be holding the annual Communion and Candle-light Service on New Year’s Eve starting at 11:30 p.m.

On the 4th, Jim & Lori Bakker and their team flew to Houston, Texas with relief supplies from Morningside Ministries to help the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Pastor Jim said the following about this special outreach:
“Dear Friends of this Ministry,
Lori and I are on our way today to bring a team of people to Houston, Texas. We leave this morning and will return Tuesday evening so we can welcome Rabbi Cahn back to Morningside for his visit here on Wednesday and Thursday.
Yesterday, a truck loaded with pallets, water purification and other survival supplies left Morningside bound for Houston. We are asking that you pray for the safety of that truck as it makes its way there as well as for the team, leaving this morning, as we fly down to Houston to help in the relief efforts taking place at a number of churches.
We are able to bring 44 pallets = 1,584 buckets of Food, a pallet of Water Filtration bottles and other misc. survival items to those who need it most. In addition, we have the 2 pallets of Bibles/Books on board as well. We pray the churches, now serving as shelters from the flood waters, will soon swell with people seeking Jesus when the ground is dry again.
Never before have you been ‘the hands and feet of Jesus’ as much as this moment. Because you have been prepared and have prepared to share with others, we are able to make this trip possible. We appreciate all you do for this Ministry and for allowing us to represent you to thousands of hurting people in need.

During the month, Pastor Jim had several guests on his program including his long time friend and mentor Dr. R.T. Kendall, who wrote the book God Meant It for Good. This book helped Jim Bakker to understand the power of forgiveness and how he must forgive ‘from his heart’ all the people that helped put him in prison. He learned that even though the Lord allowed him to go to prison when he was innocent of the charges, He would work it for good.
After Pastor Jim was released from prison, renowned lawyer and professor at the Harvard Law School, Alan Dershowitz, took up his appeal and proved he was innocent.

On Friday night the 20th, Dr. Lance Wallnau gave a very powerful message at MorningStar Ministry’s KBA Conference regarding the last days he believes that we are experiencing right now according to the biblical signs found in the Bible.
In his best-selling book God’s Chaos Candidate, Dr, Wallnau predicted Donald Trump would win the 2016 Presidential election, which was published shortly before the election. Donald Trump was so grateful to Dr. Wallnau for writing it that he gave him front row seats to the Inauguration.

On the 31st, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. MorningStar Ministries held their annual Fall Festival in front of the Heritage Grand Hotel.
As happens each year, hundreds of residents on the grounds, church members and residents in the Fort Mill area came out for this annual event that has grown in popularity. Food trucks, games, a children’s train ride, live music and ministry booths accompanied by pleasant temperatures created a friendly atmosphere for all.

On the 17th, the Daily Mail reported: “Canary island La Palma experiences 352 earthquakes in ten days as scientists continue to monitor its active volcano.” The Canary holiday island of La Palma has experienced more than 300 mini-earthquakes over the past week, scientists report. A majority of the tremors were so small they could not be located by scientists, let alone felt by any residents on La Palma.

On the 24th, CNN reported: “Suspected leptospirosis increasing In Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.” Puerto Rico has reported at least 76 cases of suspected and confirmed leptospirosis, including a handful of deaths, in the month after Hurricane Maria, said Dr. Carmen Deseda, the state epidemiologist for Puerto Rico.

On the 4th, Russell James held an outdoor “workday” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to clean up the property around the Upper Room. Together the volunteers raked up leaves and picked up all the fallen branches and twigs stacking everything so Russell could use them for a bonfire that started at 5 p.m. Everyone there enjoyed making hot dogs and toasting marshmallows.

Greater Works Church located on the grounds at 8169 Regent Parkway held a Wellfest 2017 on November 11th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This was a community outreach that included healthy foods, a Nutritionist, Chiropractor, Author Sunny Jordan (MBA), and other health experts.

John Miller, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism, said today that the suspect, Sayfullo Saipov, 29, had been “planning this [attack] for a number of weeks.”

Upper Room:
On the 2nd, Russell James held the seventh-anniversary celebration for the reopening of the Upper Room.
Former PTL singer Lee Young was this year’s special guest and he ministered in word and song and shared some of his life since leaving the PTL.
In his end-of-the-year financial report, Russell announced that as of December 2nd all bills are current and the Upper Room has an excess of $6,600.00 in the bank. He and Bishop Ron Lambright commended the Prayer Team for logging in 2,300 hours and being available to pray for people who either sent in their requests or stopped by for prayer. Many healings and miracles happened through this dedicated team of volunteers.
Russell then went on to say that he’s finally at the end of all the paperwork that will grant him permission to start the addition to the Parking Lot. It has been a long time coming, but there has been a huge breakthrough, and now the Parking Lot that has been in the planning stage for so many years will become a reality.
A reception followed in the lower level meeting room where Russell served everyone with delicious food, fruits, and a beautifully decorated cake. Everyone enjoyed the service, food, and fellowship.

On the 10th, United with Israel reported: “250 Israeli Rabbis to Trump: ‘You are fulfilling Biblical Prophecies.’” Some 250 Israeli rabbis, including Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, sent a letter to President Donald Trump thanking him and praising him for his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israeli’s capital.

On the 11th, Fox News reported: “Port Authority explosion: Suspect in ‘attempted terrorist attack.’” A Bangladeshi man reportedly inspired by ISIS set off a pipe bomb inside New York’s Port Authority bus terminal during rush hour Monday morning, sowing mass chaos but causing few injuries – likely because the ‘attempted terrorist’ detonated his ‘low-tech device’ prematurely.

As 2017 comes to an end, it is hard to believe 30 years have gone by since Pastor Jim Bakker left Heritage USA. We have witnessed the many changes on the grounds, in the Bakker’s lives and the ongoing perilous times taking place in the world, which are now all too obvious to ignore.
It has often been a roller coaster ride that doesn’t seem to stop. As we read through the Archives, it is also hard to believe that we lived through so many historic moments in time. Only God has the answer as to when this narrative will end. In the meantime, we want to wish each and everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas with good health and every provision in 2018.
Jesus said we should take no thought for tomorrow because he has provided his people with “hidden manna” (Rev. 2:17) – meaning He will take care of all His people.
“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are – no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought. You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. His food and drink is the best meal you’ll ever eat.”
