2011 Heritage Updates

January
A New Year ~ A New Look
Rick and I would like to thank you for your patience this month while our web site was being redesigned. We are grateful for the talents of Web Designer Nancy G. Daniel, who gave our site a “new look.” Along with adding more pictures to the Photo Gallery and creating an updated Archive, Nancy designed a dramatic homepage that captures the realities here at Heritage USA. We may be adding to the site during the year, but this should not interfere with visiting it. We are looking forward to 2011 as more pieces of the complicated puzzle of restoring Heritage continue to come together.
For excellent Web and Print Design, Nancy G. Daniel can be contacted at:
www.nancyg.org

During the month, The Broadcast Group worked on restoring the Barn Auditorium; they are looking forward to the New Year, expecting to finish the restoration and then use the building for some exciting events. Steve Hill will be reporting regularly on the progress of the Barn and other projects that The Broadcast Group is involved in on Video Updates, which can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/thebroadcastgroup?ref=ts

The Upper Room: “Live streaming” from the Upper Room is available for the Praise & Worship Services that are held every Sunday night at 6:30 p.m., and can be watched on the Upper Room’s web site at: www.upperroomchapel.com.

Starting Saturday, February 5th, the Upper Room will be open for prayer every Saturday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and every Sunday from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. followed by the 6:30 p.m. Praise & Worship Service.

On the 20th, during a Volunteer’s Meeting at the Upper Room attended by people from different churches in the area, a new Prayer Team* was formed. When the Upper Room is opened on the weekends, this team will insure that someone will be there to pray with visitors.

*Forming a “Prayer Team” from local churches for the Upper Room could prove to be a major step toward the many ministries on the grounds to begin cultivating a good quality relationship with each other. Experiencing God’s Spirit raining down on this land once again will happen if the ministries join together in the spirit of restoration and agreement. Taking the first step of members from different churches actually meeting together is in and of itself a miracle. After all these years, having a Prayer Team at the Upper Room again is a great blessing, and this special team is equipped to minister to whosoever is in need of prayer and encouragement.

There are people from around the world that keep up with the happenings on the grounds who still hope that someday Heritage USA will rise from the ashes and be restored to its former glory. The Upper Room could be key in that vision. When it becomes visible to the world that Christians really care about each other, more people will receive Jesus into their lives. In one accord, we could see a mighty move of God that many on the grounds have been praying for and is predestined to happen.

From the 3rd – 9th, Rick Joyner appeared on Sid Roth’s daily TV program, “It’s Supernatural!” They discussed the challenges of the upcoming New Year, the terrible economic condition America is in, and a dream Rick Joyner recently received from the Lord.

In the dream, Rick Joyner described how he found himself inside a log cabin that represented America. As he walked through the cabin looking into different rooms, which represented different sections of America i.e. industrial, cultural and business, he saw small fires on the floor of every room. The people he was with were putting out these fires as fast as they could.

When Rick Joyner went to put out one of the fires on the floor before leaving the cabin, he saw the fire had burned through the floor and he could see where the flames were coming from. He became alarmed after realizing that the whole foundation of the cabin was on fire.

As Rick detailed the dream further, he understood that the foundation America was built on is being destroyed; the Lord revealed the church needs to understand the times we are living in, and wake up and seek the Lord before it is too late.

Both men believe America as we know it is in dire straits, but it is possible to turn the country around if we pray and return back to God, putting the Lord first is imperative for America to survive. On the 14th, the Towers once again made headlines in our local papers.
The Fort Mill Times reported:
Heritage tower owners offer ‘improvements’ but not repairs ~ By Jamie Self
FORT MILL TOWNSHIP – The owners of the blighted high-rise in what used to be the PTL’s Heritage USA community have offered to improve the building’s appearance, but not to repair or replace its crumbling facade as York County staff requested.

David Yarnes, executive vice president of MorningStar Ministries, made the offer to York County, as “a potential remedy to any and all complaints from the surrounding community concerning the Tower’s visual appearance,” he wrote in an email to County Manager Jim Baker earlier this month.

In response, Baker said that he was “tremendously disappointed” by the proposal, which doesn’t address the county’s concerns about fixing the façade and showing evidence that the MorningStar has the ability and intent to complete tower renovations. Now, the York County Council must decide whether to accept the proposal, giving the ministry more time to renovate the aging tower.

Built by former televangelist Jim Bakker, the building known as Heritage Tower was part of his vision for the Christian vacation destination Heritage USA. The project tanked in the late 1980’s when Bakker left, disgraced by scandal.

In 2007, the county wanted to demolish the unfinished high-rise, but MorningStar came forward with a plan to renovate it into a spiritually-focused retirement community.

The county accepted the proposal, giving ministry leaders 180 days from the date their site plans were approved to show proof they had the finances and ability to finish the project, or face demolishing the tower. The ministry has blamed the economy for the lack of progress. A more detailed article about the Towers written by The Herald can be accessed at: http://www.heraldonline.com/2011/01/15/2756392/owners-will-not-renovate-rebuild.html

During the month, Jim and Lori Bakker went on a well deserved vacation, and there were no “live” TV shows produced from Morningside for the first few weeks of January. Jim Bakker continued to write about the perilous times we are living in on his Blog.  A large portion from his January 12th writings:

“The “false gospel” being preached today says that Jesus came to save people from a lack of money, a lack of purpose, a lack of happiness, or from living a stress-filled and problem-filled existence, i.e. “Happy Church.”

In days to come, true unity has to go beyond the local church, or even the denominations. True unity has to be rooted in the knowledge of a Gospel that is so pure it’s unchallengeable!  The true Gospel sets sinners free who are destined for God’s wrath unless they come to the saving knowledge of the grace of Christ and His death in our place (John 3:16). This is the Gospel Paul and John and all the disciples preached and this is the “faith of the Gospel” around which Paul told the Philippians they should be united.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. (Romans 5:8-10)

Any church that does not clearly and publicly preach this message from the pulpit, yet talks about “unity,” is promoting a false and man-made corporate unity (even within the church) that is unbiblical. And it’s going to get worse as the world’s problems bring about the circumstances that will cry out for an answer or relief from the Times of Trouble.

First, we have to get past the “prosperity gospel.”   It isn’t true, it has never been true, and it will fail you in the days ahead. We have to understand that God will not be mocked with a false gospel. He did not send His Son to die so that we could live in luxury. He did not have one good thing to say about money, in fact, He warned against the love of it!  What an abomination!  Jesus died that our eternal souls might not perish if we believe in Him – period!

We must know Jesus as the Savior – the sacrifice that was given for OUR sin! We ARE sinners – we need a Savior! And this Jesus who died to save us is coming again very soon! That reality cannot be minimized, diluted, or incorporated in some other agenda! And when He comes, He is coming for those who are carriers of His Truth – that God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish but have eternal life! (John 3:16)

“Unity” is not walking in lockstep behind someone’s purpose or vision statement.

“Unity” is not agreeing together for things God has not promised you!

When Bob Hartley was here, he talked about 5 waves of supernatural challenges coming against the nations in 2011. One of those waves was “false unity.” Bob said ‘Jesus showed me those who would join together in wrong alliances and not around a lovesick God who was lovesick for people.  Instead, they would gather around the survival of human beings and out of their desperate need would purpose to make false alliances.’

Unless the Church understands the meaning of true unity in the Times of Trouble ahead, they will misplace their faith in wrong precepts, and may even rely on and readily accept the world’s solutions, substitutions and counterfeits. There will be more and more rhetoric from the media and false teachers claiming to have the answers for the woes of mankind. They will be very convincing and sound very logical – to the untrained spiritual ear!

The bottom line is that we must be very careful who and what we align ourselves with!

The winds of doctrine that are blowing people about and undermining their precious faith must be resisted. Teaching the truth of God’s wisdom with God’s Word will give the Church the spiritual strength to withstand these winds and to progress in true Christian unity.”  To read more, click on Jim Bakker’s web site at: www.jimbakkershow.com

On the 17th, Jim and Tammy Faye’s son Jamie Charles Bakker, now known as Jay, made headlines in Charlotte when he came to the Queen City to sign copies of his new book Fall to Grace. Our local paper The Herald reported:
Jay Bakker’s book explores gift of grace
By Tim Funk ~ The Charlotte Observer

Jay Bakker – son of Jim and Tammy Faye is coming to Charlotte on Monday night to sign copies of his new book, “Fall to Grace.”
Not to be confused with “Fall from Grace” a 1990 TV movie about his parents.
“Horrible, awful movie,” Bakker told me during a phone chat this week. “Kevin Spacey played my dad as a Southerner almost. My dad is a Northerner from Minnesota. Bernadette Peters looked a lot like my mom. I thought that was interesting.”
What was interesting to me were Bakker’s memories of PTL (for Praise the Lord), the TV ministry based in Fort Mill, S.C., that starred his mom and dad – upbeat preacher Jim Bakker (“God loves you. He really does!”) and wife Tammy Faye Bakker, who sang about Jesus through mascara-tinged tears. Their empire – including a hotel, campground and Christian theme part – collapsed in 1987 amid revelations in the Observer that Jim Bakker had defrauded thousands of followers and paid hush money to keep church secretary Jessica Hahn quiet about their sexual encounter.
Almost overnight, Jay Bakker went from being the most popular kid in the neighborhood – with toys galore and his own security guards – to an 11-year-old outcast whose friends were no longer allowed to play with him.
“It was tough. And very confusing,” he said, “I felt very defensive of my mom and dad. But my whole world was turned upside down. I remember going back to PTL, and the same security guards who were paid to protect me a year earlier were now paid to keep me off the grounds.”
By age 12, with his dad going off to prison, young Bakker was downing wine coolers to cope, then rebel. Later, he graduated to whiskey, though he’s been sober since age 20 and goes to AA meetings.
Bakker realizes now that – as much as it hurt him as a kid – the downfall that turned Jim and Tammy Faye into punch lines on late night TV ushered in an era of celebrity scandals.
Or as he puts it in his new book: “My family set the standard for televised crack-ups. Before O.J. (Simpson) on the interstate, before Michael Jackson dangled babies over balconies, before Britney (Spears) went all bald and strange, there was the Jim and Tammy Faye ‘mascara meltdown.’ ”
But Bakker also credits his parents with pioneering family-friendly Christian TV and writes that they paved the way “for the best-selling mega-church stars of today.”
He dedicates the new book to his mother, who died in 2007 after a long, public battle with cancer.
Far from being angry at his parents, Bakker, now 35 and co-pastor of Revolution Church NYC, sounds affectionate when speaking about them. He says he misses his mom – “she was always an inspiration” – and has long phone talks about theology with his dad, now a preacher in Branson, Mo.
As the title suggests, Bakker’s book is mostly about grace, a transformative gift from God that he said gets lip service from many Christians.
“So many Christians become so focused on life after death that they’ve forgotten about life before death,” he said. “I try to focus on the here and now and help people realize they’re accepted by Christ.”
That divine embrace includes gays and lesbians, said Bakker, who is straight and divorced.
He says he believes the seeming condemnations of homosexuality in the Bible – including from St. Paul, a hero in Bakker’s book – are really about prostitution, not committed relationships. Bakker, whose mom became an icon in the gay community, presided at a same-sex wedding in California.
We ended our conversation talking about body piercings – he’s gotten rid of his – and his many tattoos.
Some are for fun; others spread the Gospel. Like the HELP ME LORD spelled out on his knuckles – with “the ME on my thumbs.” Bakker will speak and sign books Monday at 7 p.m. at Borders bookstore, 7826 Rea Road. This article can be accessed at:
http://www.heraldonline.com/2011/01/15/2756611/jay-bakkers-book-explores-gift.html

Jay Bakker appeared on WBTV in Charlotte N.C. for an interview before going to his book signing at Borders. There is a difference between Jay’s beliefs and his father Jim Bakker’s view of the LGBT community. Jim Bakker loves his son and Jay loves his dad and though they differ on this issue, they continue to have an amicable relationship.

On the 18th, there was a meeting with York County Council on the latest proposal by MorningStar regarding renovations to the Towers. It was attended by Rick Joyner and supporters of MorningStar Church. This was followed by an executive “closed door” meeting between York County Council and MorningStar Ministries. No details are available as of now, but there was another meeting scheduled for January 26th with the Mediator regarding the dispute. Details of the meeting have not been made public.

Matthew 24 ~ Signs of the Times:

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the natural disasters of 2010 were the deadliest and most costly of the past 40 years. Over 250,000 people died as a result of earthquakes, heat waves, floods, volcanoes, super typhoons, blizzards and landslides. The financial cost was in excess of $222 billon dollars.

In the first month of 2011 alone, we have experienced severe weather patterns throughout the world, including unprecedented snowstorms, record breaking rainfall with brutal flooding, a continuance of earthquakes and a volcanic eruption in Japan: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/01/28/volcano-spews-ash-smoke-rd-day-japan/

Violent protests in the countries of Yemen, Tunisia and Egypt are causing international crises. As of the writing of this update, tens of thousands of Egyptians throughout their country are protesting against the government; the riots have to date caused hundreds of injuries and several deaths. More details of “Egypt in Crisis” can be found at: http://video.foxnews.com/v/4514848/violent-protests-escalate-in-egypt

Rapidly unfolding current events make it almost impossible not to recognize the obvious; we are heading further into the Book of Revelation. The prophecies concerning the days of sorrow are in play today. We cannot stop them, but we can determine to be prepared for the events that are happening in the world, and then find our place in the upheaval to comfort and help those around us who do not understand where we are in Bible prophecy.

Jim Bakker has one of the most informative and detailed list of end time events from a biblical perspective, including what is happening right now in Egypt on BREAKING REVELATION NEWS at http://www.jimbakkershow.com/. The web site updates daily and includes related Scriptures.

Those who fear what is ahead may not realize what is going to happen when Jesus returns. The following Scripture describes what we have to look forward to.
Rev 21:1-5
21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and there was no sea anymore. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared like a bride dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Now God’s presence is with people, and he will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone.” 5 The One who was sitting on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.” NCV

SURPRISING NEWS
! Another ministry is arriving on the grounds in March. Pastored by Jonathan Martin, “Renovatus Community Church” of Charlotte, North Carolina is a vibrant 21st Century ministry that is affiliated with the Church of God headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. Starting March 5th, Pastor Martin will begin holding Saturday night services at 6 p.m. in the TV Studio.

Renovatus Community Church was planted in Charlotte five years ago and is not moving on the grounds. Their plan is to use the TV Studio on Saturday nights as an outreach to the surrounding towns, reaching people with a powerful worship service coupled with a message of hope. After Renovatus Church celebrated their fifth anniversary in the TV Studio on January 30th of this year, the following information was posted by Pastor Martin on Renovatus’ web site.

Pastor Martin wrote: “We are still reeling from the spectacular 5th anniversary service we had last Sunday morning at the Broadcast Group in Fort Mill, SC! It was an extraordinary service, an extraordinary crowd, and an extraordinary day. In the excitement of the event, several of the local news stories that aired miscommunicated some key details (certainly not on purpose), that I wanted to take a moment to clarify.

To be absolutely clear, Renovatus is not moving its operation to Fort Mill or taking over any buildings. We are renting space on Saturday nights from our dear friends at The Broadcast Group, a remarkable media company. Based on the stories, we had calls this week asking if we were leaving West Charlotte. We are just getting started turning the world upside from Little Rock Rd., and we are in it for the long haul! By no means are we cutting and running from this mission we feel so passionately about.

In the meantime, we are so excited about expanding this work of kingdom renovation into Fort Mill/Rock Hill/Pineville/Ballantyne/South Charlotte through our Saturday services at the Broadcast Group. They are a full-service media and event company providing HD/SD studio and live event production, equipment sales and rental, live web streaming, media consulting, post-production, event hosting, program distribution and placement and much more. The team there has proudly assisted some of the world’s premier organizations such as HGTV, TD Jakes, Universal Studios, Billy Graham, the International Olympic Committee and many others. They are an independent company under the direction of founder and president Dr. Dale Hill, with a reputation for excellence around the world. It’s a great and humbling thing to be able to connect with these wonderful folks who have been doing such innovative work in our community for so long, and we so appreciate them opening up their headquarters to us on a weekly basis.

I keep looking at my calendar saying “Isn’t it March yet?” We are thrilled about the Saturday services beginning March 5th at 6pm, and can’t wait to see you all in Fort Mill! The renovation movement is reaching into more lives and more parts of the greater Charlotte community and we are expecting explosive things. http://www.renovatuscommunity.com/

Their plan is to purchase the property by next year. During the month, WSOC-TV of Charlotte, N.C. did the following report about the move – Click on following link to view the report: http://www.wsoctv.com/news/26767068/detail.html

The Towers’ situation remains unresolved. There is talk that MorningStar is still in mediation, but there is no confirmation to the rumor.

During the month at Morningside Ministry in Blue Eye, Missouri, Jim Bakker devoted many of his programs to teaching how to live healthier lives, and how to survive in the difficult times that lie ahead. From nutritional meals that have a 20 year shelf life, to top-of-the-line water filtration equipment, he helped people to prepare for any kind of disaster.

Morningside Ministry continues training up young people at their “Media Master’s Commission School.” Now in its second year, the Media Master’s students are producing new programs named “The Vision.” These latest programs are being broadcasted on the Jim Bakker Show and the NOW Internet Network at: http://www.jimbakkershow.com/. Jim Bakker’s grandsons James and Jonathan (Tammy Sue’s children) now attend the Media Master’s Commission School.

Through the combined outreach of the Internet and Television, these openly honest Master’s Commission students are reaching their generation with the answers that can help their peers cope with the realities of today’s complicated world. Speaking about depression, rejection, drugs and other serious issues that young people find themselves facing every day, “The Vision” is becoming an effective voice in both the Christian and the secular world.

During the month, because of the out-of-control economy in America, Jim Bakker reminded his viewers of Pastor David Wilkerson’s prophetic words from 2009. David Wilkerson prophesied about an “earth shattering event” that is going to happen in cities across America. Again, what sounded like fiction is slowly but surely looking more possible. The protests by teachers in Madison, Wisconsin this month are ominous, and could spread to 16 other states: Click on the following link to see the report from Fox News on the protests: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/02/20/12g-state-workers-fired-budget-deal-wisconsin-governor-warns/

David Wilkerson pastors the Time Square Church in New York City. He is recognized in many circles as a prophetic voice for this generation.
His ministry was established in 1958, and his story is documented in the book & movie, THE CROSS AND THE SWITCHBLADE.
The web site for this interdenominational ministry is: tscnyc.org. Jim believed the Lord wanted him to share David Wilkerson’s message with his TV audience. It stated as follows:

AN URGENT MESSAGE: “I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING; WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE-EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting including Times Square, in New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11:3 it is written, If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, it is hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart. (Jeremiah 18: 11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, Upon the wicked he will rain snares, fire and burning winds, this will be the portion of their cup. Why? David answered, Because the Lord is righteous (v.7). This is a righteous judgment just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. Lay in store a thirty-day supply of food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We flee like a bird to a mountain. Or, as David says, He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men (v.4). In the Lord I take refuge (v.1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run, no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take, trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with this message as you choose.
God Bless and keep you.
In Christ, DAVID WILKERSON”

Signs of the Times: Revelation Chapter 6 verses 3-4
3 When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to take peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.

On Sunday morning February 7th, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin was the guest speaker at both MorningStar’s morning church services. As described on his web site, http://www.kingdomwarriors.net/ LTG (Ret) Jerry Boykin was one of the original members of the US Army’s Delta Force. He was privileged to ultimately command these elite warriors in combat operations.
Later, Jerry Boykin commanded all the Army’s Green Berets as well as the Special Warfare Center and School. Adding to his credit, General Boykin is an ordained minister with a passion for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging Christians to become warriors in God’s Kingdom.

General Boykin
based his message on the unrest that is happening in Egypt. He related the ongoing crises in the Middle East to Bible prophecy, and though he does not agree with everyone’s view on Eschatology (end-time events), he acknowledged that we are indeed living in the times Jesus spoke of concerning His return.

General Boykin’s message is so profound that Rick Joyner posted part of it on MorningStar’s web site: To view this MUST SEE video, click on the following link:

On February 11th, after 30 years of rule, Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak stepped down under the pressure of tens of thousands of Egyptian citizens who protested in the streets of Egypt for 18 consecutive days. Below is a link to a slide show from Fox News capturing some historic moments in Egypt. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/02/11/egyptian-president-hosni-mubarak-steps/

During the rioting in Egypt, an unusual image was captured by a news network of a pale green horse riding through the crowds. The video was broadcasted on major news networks, including MSNBC, FOX and CNN, and it ended up on You Tube. After the tape was examined by video engineers, it was said to be a puff of smoke, some sort of reflection or a coincidence.
The image fits the description of one of the Four Horsemen from the Book of Revelation. A minute into the video, a likeness of a man dressed in what looks to be an armored breastplate appears riding a pale green horse. The image is repeated a few times in order to get a good look at this strange “puff of smoke.” Click arrow to see the video:

At the end of the month, Tensions and rioting are raging across the Middle East. The scope of the unrest is unparalleled in modern history. Understanding the Times
Luke 12:54-56 ~ 54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? (KJV)

March
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5: 22-23 KJV

Heritage Boulevard: The spring blossoms on the Bradford pear trees lining Heritage Boulevard are always an impressive sight, and a reminder that God’s timing is perfect no matter how chaotic the world around us gets.

On Tuesday the 1st, MorningStar Ministries held its monthly Solemn Assembly in the Ballroom of the Grand Hotel. Church members, staff, students, visitors and volunteers attended the meeting all during the day and well into the evening. The Solemn Assembly is a meeting where anyone with a word from the Lord, an urgent prayer request or just wants to share their heart is afforded the atmosphere to do so. Many prayers have been answered since these assemblies began just a few months ago; anyone is welcome to attend on the “first Tuesday” of the month.

On the weekend of the 5th, church services were held all over the grounds of Heritage. It brought back memories of bygone days seeing some of the parking lots that are usually empty filled with cars again. It is encouraging to know that a few thousand people are worshiping the Lord at the variety of services now available to everyone.

The Upper Room: Every weekend in the Upper Room volunteers on the Prayer Team are ministering to people in need of prayer and encouragement. “Live streaming” of the Sunday night services are available on their web site at 6:30 p.m. – all are welcome to attend these weekly meetings.
Ever since the miracle of the Upper Room’s reopening in December 2010, there is a noticeable peaceful atmosphere around that area of the grounds.
To watch the “live stream” Praise & Worship Service at the Upper Room, donate for its upkeep, or volunteer to help with the ongoing renovations, please go to their web site at: http://www.upperroomchapel.com/.

The Towers: On Monday night the 21st, a closed executive session was held on the fate of the Towers by the York County Council – no new information has been released. There is still deep division on the grounds over the troubling situation. The ongoing strife between the residents who want it down and those who want it finished continues to escalate.

The Campground: The sign reads Lakeside Lodges & Campground, but the formal name for it is Crown International Campground (formally PTL’s Praise Hollow Campground) It appears that Earl Coulston is making a concentrated effort to bring the rustic campgrounds up to pristine condition. During the past few weeks, there have been some striking changes made to the campgrounds, including the newly landscaped entrance. The transformation is a welcomed change – To make a campsite reservation, contact Crown International Campground at (803) 547-3500.

During the month, a request was made for volunteers to help with finishing the Barn Auditorium (Heritage Village Church). The Broadcast Group’s goal was to have it completed by April 1st. Right now, there are a few dedicated men working on the inside of the building – an informative March 11th “video update” of their progress can be seen on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/thebroadcastgroup?ref=ts.
For information about volunteering to help with the renovations to the Barn Auditorium, please go to The Broadcast Group’s web site: http://www.thebroadcastgroup.com/

The 7th of March would have been Tammy Faye’s 69th birthday; she passed away in 2007 after a very long battle with lung cancer. The following duet she and her daughter Tammy Sue sang at the Barn Auditorium in the mid eighties is an example of Tammy Faye’s natural ability to encourage people. Tammy Sue carries her mom’s anointing, and her gifted voice and talents are greatly needed in the church at this time in history.

The 19th of March marked the 24th anniversary since the fall of the PTL Ministry
.
The 1987 PTL scandal was a dark moment in the church. From March 19th and throughout the many months and years that followed, the world witnessed how callous most of the church world was toward Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker.

Jim Bakker failed morally, but so did the church by ignoring the whole Bakker family. In the end, Jim Bakker was found “not guilty” of fraud at a second trial in 1996 after being released from prison. Sadly, not too many people know about that trial, and to this day most of the church still has not forgiven Jim Bakker, leaving open wounds in the Bakker family and in many PTL Partners.

For the most part, the new generation of Christians is familiar with Jim and Tammy Faye as ministers related to scandal. Many do not realize that with their God-given vision for Christian television, Jim and Tammy broke through the darkness of religion by bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ into the homes of millions of people worldwide.

Jim Bakker created and hosted the 700 Club in the 1960’s, started the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in the 1970’s, and went on to build the first Christian satellite network: at the time, the PTL Satellite Network was one of only four satellite networks in the world. Jim & Tammy then built the mega-Christian retreat Heritage USA where millions of Christians frequented each year. Their contributions to Christianity seemingly have all been forgotten.

Maybe someday there will be a change of heart toward Jim & Tammy and a public vindication for the entire Bakker family from the numerous allegations they were bombarded with. Even if they did everything they were alleged to have done, which is far-fetched, it was and still is the church’s responsibility to restore.
Galatians 6: verses 1-3: (Message Bible)
Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.

On the 24th, Rick Joyner was a guest on the Jim Bakker Show in Blue Eye, Mo.
During the show, in-depth discussions of the escalating catastrophic events that are happening around the world dominated their conversation. Rick Joyner said he has changed since the Japanese earthquake of March 11th. One of Rick’s close friends at MorningStar predicted this specific earthquake many years ago, and said that when it happened it would lead to the “big one” in California, and a worldwide economic meltdown.

Rick Joyner now believes the huge earthquake predicted for California and a monetary meltdown will happen in the near future. Their conversation was intense, and they don’t agree on everything. However, they found “common ground” in what is now happening on the earth are overwhelming signs that the end of the age is closer than ever before.

Rick Joyner is making “Special Bulletins” (videos) on the subject of America’s future, explaining how he now perceives all that is happening in the world.
These Special Bulletins reveal Rick Joyner’s new perspective on America’s future at:
Prophetic Perspective

Signs of the Times: Luke 21 verses 25 – 28
25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On earth, nations will be afraid and confused because of the roar and fury of the sea. 26 People will be so afraid they will faint, wondering what is happening to the world, because the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then people will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things BEGIN to happen, look up and hold your heads high, because the time when God will free you is near!” (NCV)

On March 11th, a 9.0 earthquake struck northern Japan. This epic quake, the 4th largest in recorded history, with its hundreds of aftershocks has left Japan in a world of desperation. Right after the quake, a huge tsunami washed away thousands of buildings and homes, killing over 10,000 people, with thousands more reported missing. The loss of life may be incalculable.
Six of Japan’s Nuclear Reactors located in the area of the epicenter of the quake have been damaged by both the quake and the tsunami. Trying to stop a nuclear meltdown, which could cause more damage than the quake itself, is now one of the biggest priorities for the Japanese government. The below links are “news reports” and “videos” of the quake and its ongoing aftermath. Earthquake Aftermath

Since 1999, Jim Bakker has warned of a huge earthquake striking Japan. On New Year’s Eve 2010, he spoke about March being a “major” month to watch out for. He warned that the events of this month would be earth shaking and would lead to the church’s finest hour saying, “When the world is falling apart, the true church will be coming together and be prepared!”
The Bible says in Amos 3:7, “But always, first of all, I warn you through my prophets. This I now have done.”
Throughout history God has had prophetic voices among us, and surely over the past decade Jim Bakker has proven many times over that he hears prophetically from the Lord. Though few pay attention to him, like in the days of Noah, he continues to warn people about the days we live in, and is committed now more than ever to keep preaching the Gospel and preparing people for times of trouble.

During the month, Jim Bakker described his revelation from God. Below is an important excerpt from his writings:
“When the Lord told me back in December that this would be a “Major March,” I knew the events that were coming would be remarkable. I felt that there would be major events that would shake the world this month and it would be a wonderful time of healing and blessing for some of God’s people. Today, I know that what is happening in the world is only going to accelerate and NOW is the time for the Church’s finest hour. Listen to me now, and believe me when I say that when the world is coming apart, the true church will come together and be prepared!

God showed me that an earthquake so big would shake Japan and it would cause a financial crisis of their nation that would cause great financial distress to the United States. A week before this Great earthquake hit Japan I felt God spoke to me that there would be a 9 point earthquake soon and I said so on our program. God has spoken to me over the last few years that there was coming a massive earthquake to California that would devastate Los Angeles. The next few days and weeks could bring a shaking over the West coast from top to bottom!

When I told a prophet, whom I trusted, of the Japan and LA earthquake God had told me about he said when the earthquake that God showed me hits Japan, the big one – the California earthquake is coming next! (see page 110 of my book, Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse) There may be many more earthquakes coming to Japan and one of them, a big one, centered near or under Tokyo. I believe we all had better be prepared for a Time of Trouble that Jesus told us about. WE ARE IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION NOW!

A trusted friend, Dr. Paul Williams*, called me yesterday and told me in a very somber tone about a dream he had where he had seen a green road sign. The road sign simply said “Advent 2”. When Jesus came the first time, as a baby in the manger, it is known as “The First Advent” or Advent 1. Friends, this dream was clearly telling us that Jesus is coming again very soon! How much clearer can He make this?

But before Jesus returns the second time, He tells us what will happen on this earth, and those things are happening NOW! The Bible tells us that the foolish know what is coming, but do not prepare. If you listen to our broadcasts, we have been saying over and over: GET PREPARED – THE TIMES OF TROUBLE ARE UPON US!

BY FAILING TO PREPARE, YOU ARE PREPARING TO FAIL!

Preparation for the Time of Trouble preceding the Lord’s second coming is first, spiritual. People, you need to EAT the word of God. Devour every spiritual Word of God you can by reading your Bible and digesting its instruction. Get your heart right with God!”… Jim Bakker www.jimbakkershow.com

On March 19th, a “Super” Moon amazed millions of people around the world. This phenomenon whereby the moon is closer to the earth causing it to appear larger than a normal full-moon hasn’t happened since 1993. On the 27th, One of Japan’s nuclear reactors is reaching radiation levels many times the normal level causing great concern to all peoples around the world. At the end of the month, worldwide attention is focused on the unfolding events that are happening in Japan, the Middle East, Europe and America. Many economists now say the American dollar is in danger of losing much of its value over the next year because of America’s $14 trillion debt, high unemployment and the catastrophic events that have affected Japan’s economy. Not to mention that many American companies’ production has slowed down because they depend on Japan for components to make their products.

On Sunday the 27th, Rick Joyner preached about the future he now sees for America. He brought up his March 24th appearance on the Jim Bakker Show and talked about the 31 events the Lord revealed to Jim in 1999. (These 31 revelations are what will happen on the earth before the Lord returns.)

He explained to his congregation that 30 of the 31 events that Jim Bakker received from the Lord have been fulfilled. When Rick first heard these events spoken by Jim Bakker at his 1999 New Year’s Conference in Moravian Falls, North Carolina, it was too much for him to receive, but he said things are different now and Jim Bakker truly has heard from the Lord.

Rick Joyner spoke about being prepared for the coming days with extra food and water, which will become a necessity to have on hand. He also mentioned that Heritage USA was originally created by Jim Bakker as an end time “place of refuge,” and expounded on the subject saying that we are heading into the times of trouble as spoken of in the Bible.

It was a powerful moment when Rick Joyner talked about the ridicule, persecution and character bashing that Jim Bakker has endured over the years and yet he has never given up on the message God gave him for the days we find ourselves living in. He also said that people misunderstand Jim Bakker’s character, and how he is really a humble man that lives a simple life. The below clip is from the March 27th Sunday service.

April
Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. Hebrews 12:2 NLT

The Upper Room: Less than six months ago the fate of the Upper Room appeared hopeless, and now it is a frequently visited place on the grounds. During the Easter season, we noticed several people stopping by the life-size statue depicting Jesus standing before Pontius Pilot located just outside the Upper Room. It is an especially humbling experience this time of the year to reflect on the crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ at the reproduction of the room where He celebrated Passover with his disciples before willingly going to the cross for us all.

During the Easter weekend, our local paper The Herald featured an article about the re-opening of the Upper Room, which included a small slideshow. Even though the Upper Room’s restoration breathes an environment of hope on the grounds, it is discouraging to read some of the negative comments that are always associated with any article about Heritage USA. The Barn Auditorium: It looks as if the Barn Auditorium (Heritage Village Church) is in the final stages of completion. The latest update on the Barn’s restoration was posted on the 8th by Pastor Randy Hill and can be found on The Broadcast Group’s Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/thebroadcastgroup. The major work on the Barn has basically been completed except for sheet rock, carpeting and a few finishing touches. The Towers: No public news to report this month from MorningStar Ministries or the York County Council on an agreement over the Towers’ stagnant situation.

During the month at Morningside Ministries in Blue Eye, Missouri, Jim Bakker announced that he will be dedicating one month of his daily TV shows to teaching on the Book of Revelation. Jim Bakker’s five year study of “every word” in the Book of Revelation is all the more valuable now that the “birth pangs” spoken of in Matthew 24 are increasing daily.
In his teachings, Jim Bakker clears up one of the most confusing words found in the Book of Revelation. In Revelation 1:1 the Bible says that the events leading up to the return of Jesus Christ will SHORTLY come to pass. Because this passage was written over 2000 years ago, it is understandable that the word SHORTLY becomes confusing.

The following is a clip from Pastor Jim Bakker’s teaching on the Book of Revelation that clarifies what is meant by the word “SHORTLY” in the original Greek and Hebrew text.

The Amphitheatre: The Amphitheatre is still in poor condition, and will most likely have to be completely rebuilt. It was last used by Narroway Productions from the mid 1990’s to 2005. Narroway produced dramatic musicals of Jesus’ life and His last days on the earth. When Earl Coulston started remodeling the Amphitheatre in 2005, he had intentions of adding an overhead dome but the project wasn’t completed. After witnessing first-hand God’s ability to restore some of the most decayed buildings on the grounds, it isn’t difficult to believe that this great open-air theatre can someday be used again.

Renovatus Church: Starting May 1st, the Renovatus Church will switch its Saturday night church service in the TV Studio to Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. Renovatus’ regular 9 a.m. Sunday service will still be held on Little Rock Road in Charlotte, N.C. For more information, check their web site at: http://www.renovatuscommunity.com/

On the 7th & 8th, Economist Larry Bates, author of THE NEW ECONOMIC DISORDER and A NATION IN CRISIS, was a guest on the Jim Bakker Show. Larry Bates talked about America’s out-of-control spending which he believes will result in defaulting on its $14 trillion debt. He also stated that printing money will soon cause high inflation, including higher priced gasoline and an increased cost of food products. And because America imports 63% of its food, there will eventually be some food shortages.

Larry Bates said, “Facts are stubborn things,” and these sobering facts are unpopular because only 5% of the population pays attention to what is happening from a Biblical standpoint. Jim Bakker and Larry Bates concurred that helping people prepare emotionally, physically and spiritually for the days ahead is a necessity.
These informative shows will soon be posted on Jim Bakker’s web site at: www.jimbakkershow.com in the ARCHIVES section.

It was only days after Larry Bates appeared on the Jim Bakker Show when Fox Business News reported: Amid soaring debt, Standard & Poor’s downgraded its outlook on the U.S. credit rating from “stable” to “negative” raising the likelihood the U.S. will lose its coveted ‘AAA’ rating as Washington struggles to fix its beleaguered balance sheet. America has not seen this lowered credit rating since 1941 when WWII started. Signs of the Times:Matthew 24:3-15 NCV

3 Later, as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his followers came to be alone with him. They said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that it is time for you to come again and for this age to end?” 4 Jesus answered, “Be careful that no deceives you. 5 Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will fool many people. 6 You will hear about wars and stories of wars that are coming, but don’t be afraid. These things must happen before the end comes. 7 Nations will fight against other nations; kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be times when there is no food for people to eat, and there will be earthquakes in different places. 8 These things are like the first pains when something new is about to be born.

Gasoline prices in America are now hovering around $4 per gallon, and continue to rise. The worldwide financial crises along with the upheaval in the Middle East are causing worldwide tensions over future oil supplies pushing wholesale costs higher.

From April 14th – 17th
, an estimated 240 tornadoes ravaged the southeast, leaving a trail of destruction that affected six states. North Carolina alone experienced over 80 tornados with at least 24 fatalities. The following report gives some details of the deadly storms: http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/us/2011/04/16/deadly-storms-ravage-deep-south/#slide=5

At the end of the month, unprecedented thunderstorms, floods and tornadoes have caused unimaginable devastation throughout several states across the Midwest and Southeast killing hundreds of people. News networks reported there have been more tornadoes in the month of April than at any other time in recorded history. Usually there are about 100 tornadoes during the month of April, but the number climbed to over 400 and the complete total is not available as of this writing.

More homes on the grounds? There is a new sign along Regent Parkway just across from the Amphitheatre that says, Coming Soon – Single Family Homes by Eastwood Homes. The heavily wooded acreage where the new homes are slated to be built appears to be on an old PTL campground next to the Upper Room. This is the second time that a developer has made plans to build on that property.

On the 7th & 14th, Uncle Henry’s son, David Harrison, held an Estate Sale at the Harrison Home just off of Heritage Blvd. Countless pieces of Uncle Henry and Aunt Susan’s lives together were for sale in almost every room of their former home. People left with treasures and memorabilia of the Harrisons many years in ministry which spanned over four decades, starting from the earliest years of the 700 Club through all the PTL years. Uncle Henry passed away in 1995, and Aunt Susan lost her battle with cancer in 2010.

During the month, MorningStar Ministries sent twenty members from one of their Special Forces Teams, headed by Pastor Doug Lee, to the storm ravaged area of Birmingham, Alabama. Equipped with the Word of God and “chain saws,” the team was able to help many victims with the clean up from the historic April tornadoes that changed the map of the Alabama region forever.
The MorningStar Special Forces will again be deployed from May 28th through June 6th to Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The expertly trained team’s dedication to helping the displaced people of Alabama is a living witness of God’s caring hands extended. Over the past several years, MorningStar Ministries has sent thousands of missionaries throughout the world as well as to victims of natural disasters in America. MorningStar’s web site is: www.morningstarministries.org.
MorningStar launches a new TV PROGRAM: Prophetic Perspective with Rick Joyner airs on Sky Angel Monday through Friday at 5:a.m. & 11:00a.m. (EST). This brand new 30 minute program is filled with biblical prophetic insights on the events that are and will continue to dramatically change the stability of the world we live in.

During the May 22nd Sunday Service at MorningStar, Rick Joyner prayed passionately for the state of Israel. Surrounded by many enemies, Israel’s very existence continues to be threatened because of the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East. The Bible says to “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” and the following prayer is a reminder of God’s words:

On the 9th, Jim Bakker, along with his camera crew, went on a road trip to tape programs “on location” of the devastating damage from the epic flooding caused by the rising waters of the Mississippi River. Using Morningside’s ‘Now News’ Mobile Satellite Broadcast Unit, the crew filmed shows from some of the most damaged towns and cities along the Mississippi River, including Memphis, Tennessee and Vicksburg, Mississippi.
They eventually made their way down to the tornado stricken areas in Alabama.

To better bring his point across, Jim Bakker actually taught from the Book of Revelation while standing knee deep in the flooded waters of the Mississippi River and exhorted everyone to be aware of the perilous times we are in. He repeated his conviction that the church needs to stop fighting and bickering with each other and work toward unity.

All during the month, it was reported by many news outlets that the historic flooded Mississippi River looks like an ocean in the middle of America. Surrounding river banks and tributaries that are feeding into the Mississippi River have forced thousands of families to evacuate their homes. Additionally, over three million acres of productive land along the long stretch of the Mississippi River are now underwater.

Because of the world-wide epic events that are happening, more people than ever before are paying attention to the Bible’s explanation of the present day. Even Jim Bakker’s daily TV show, which previously had been ignored by the mainstream church, is now being watched by millions of Christians and non-Christians alike. Pastor Jim is also being recognized by church leaders for his exhaustive effort to warn, comfort and help people to be prepared during these perilous times.

In April of this year, Jim Bakker said that the month of May would be a “Monster May.” He explains this statement in his writings of May 19th:

“During a show taping not too long ago, the Lord suddenly downloaded the words ‘Monster May’ into my spirit. It was very much like the countless earlier times I had been given some prophetic insight rather unexpectedly but very certain, nonetheless. When the Lord spoke the words ‘Major March’ to me on New Year’s Eve 2010, I had no idea the extent of what was coming in March, but the somber events which were to unfold proved that those words were particularly accurate and precise. Then, nine days before the Japan earthquake and again while on the air, the download from the Lord came again; “There’s going to be a 9-point earthquake somewhere in the world very soon.” On March 11, 2011 we saw Japan literally moved 8 feet and the earth’s axis shifted 4 inches in a historic earthquake of epic proportion.

The Red Lights of Prophecy are Flashing!

“Hearing from the Lord” is somewhat of a mystery to most people. But for those who read and believe what the Bible says, hearing from the Lord is not only talked about in the ancient texts, it is essential for the last days. We are told in Acts 2:17-18 that “in the last days” the Lord will pour out His Spirit and the result of this will be prophetic revelation in the form of visions, dreams, and prophecy. This is necessary “in the last days” because as we draw closer to the end of this age, we will need prophetic guidance more than ever. In 1 Corinthians 14:39, Paul instructs the Church: “So my brothers and sisters, you should truly want to prophesy…” Paul also said in 1 Corinthians 13:9 that we know in part, and we prophesy in part. I like the way the New Living Translation explains this; “Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!”

Weather Even More Out of Control: Death by Water

In 1999, the Lord woke me up in the middle of the night and instructed me to get a pen and begin to write. One of the things He said to me was there would be “weather even more out of control: death by water.” It seems as though this particular prophetic word from the Lord is especially pertinent in 2011 as we see the weather causing record numbers of tornadoes and rain, and then the Mississippi River floods. This entire month of May has truly been a ‘monster’, and it’s not over yet. The effects of this ‘monster’ will be with us forever in loss of life and property, and in the ripple effect it will cause on our crops, our economy, and ultimately, our world…”

As a “watchman” for the Lord, I see and hear these things to warn people of the coming dangers. My whole ministry is geared toward preparation for catastrophic events that are surely coming and that’s because we are in the Last Days. Jesus tells us all about it in Matthew 24 and in the Book of Revelation. But the most amazing thing about Jesus is that He loves us so much that He is again echoing His prophetic warnings throughout the world to give people plenty of time to see, hear and understand what is coming and to prepare. I can only believe He does this because He wants us to know that He has us in His heart and hand, and He doesn’t want people to suffer unnecessarily! He wants us to know that He is coming very, very soon!” Jim Bakker www.jimbakkershow.com

Understanding the times:
4 But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you WON’T BE SURPRISED when the day of the Lord comes like a THIEF. 5 For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. 6 So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. 1Thess. 5:4-6 (NLT)

There have always been earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis happening in the world. The difference now is that nowhere in recent history have these events happened so frequently and at the same time in many places around the world. Jesus described the end time events as birth pangs that will get closer together and become much more intense. The following news stories are but a few of the history making events of this “Monster May.”

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. Hebrews 6:18 (NLT)

The Upper Room: Live streaming of the Praise & Worship Service in the Upper Room airs on-line Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. at http://www.upperroomchapel.com/.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the Upper Room’s “Prayer Team” is available to pray and minister to whoever is in need of spiritual help. For many people, it is a great encouragement to have seen the Upper Room’s restoration and then witness its miraculous re-opening. During the evening hours when the lights are on around the building, their silent glow makes an inspiring statement that with God all things are possible.

Crown International Campgrounds (formally Praise Hollow campgrounds) is filled with visitors.

Since May 1st, Renovatus Church
has switched its Saturday night service in the TV Studio to Sunday mornings at 11a.m. The church also holds a 9 a.m. Sunday service at their other location on Little Rock Road in Charlotte, N.C. For more information about the Renovatus Church, or to hear the services, check out their web site at: http://www.renovatuscommunity.com/.

The Towers: Recently, more bricks have fallen off the outside concrete walls of the Towers causing concerns and frustration in our neighborhood. On the 11th, a few “thrill seekers” trespassed into the Towers, breaking through security fencing and prying open a locked door. They then were apprehended by the York County Sheriff’s Department, and the incident was reported on some of our local TV stations. The Castle also made news this month when a homeless couple was found sleeping inside the decaying building. Click on the following report by “FOX News of Charlotte” for video of the aftermath of both incidents. http://www.foxcharlotte.com/news/local/Trespassing-Highlights-Problem-at-Old-PTL-Property-124047474.html . MorningStar Ministries has made a decision to arrest intruders because the Towers is still considered “a construction site” and is a very dangerous place to walk through, especially at night. Will the 21-story Towers be finished or just torn down is the question that continues to be a point of contention for twenty-five years and counting.

On Saturday the 11th, MorningStar Ministries held its annual college graduation ceremony in the lobby of the Grand Hotel. The Graduating Class of 2011 had the distinct honor of being the first college graduation of the newly established MorningStar University College of Theology. Many of the graduates will soon journey to the mission fields around the world being well prepared to proclaim the Gospel, plant churches and to give their lives for the cause of Christ. Some students will go back to living in or traveling to some remote and unstable regions of the world. God bless all of them as they go to the frontlines where huge spiritual battles are being fought every day.

According to the York County Planning and Development Department, the land where PTL’s Recreation Village once stood is in the process of being developed by Coulston Enterprises to make room for 52 single family homes to be constructed by Ryland Homes. From the old Recreation Village’s Tram Stop being torn down, to roadways being removed, there are significant changes happening there.

Also, according to York County, there is a long-term project for “The New Heritage Wastewater Station” for York County to be constructed somewhere in that area. For more details about this project, click on the Regal Manor web site at: http://www.regalmanorhoa.com and go to the “Projects” Tab.

During the month, from Morningside Ministries in Blue Eye, Missouri, Jim Bakker continued teaching from the Book of Revelation on his daily TV program. After spending a week on location in the tornado damaged and flooded regions of the Midwest, and speaking to victims of some of the disaster stricken towns, he is more passionate to bring understanding of the Book of Revelation to as many people who will listen. Pastor Jim reminded his viewers of a prophetic word he received from Pastor E.V. Hill when he came out of prison in 1994 telling him that he would raise up a “David’s Army.”

Jim Bakker’s writings from June 11th:

“When I came out of prison in 1994, E.V. Hill gave me a prophetic word from the Lord that I would raise up a “David’s Army.” From the scriptures, we know that this is a fairly ragtag bunch, yet God used them in mighty ways to restore His beloved Israel.

In the Last Days, God is using whoever has a heart after Him. You may think ‘well yes, He always did’ and that’s a true statement. But David’s Army came together in a time when the illegitimate authorities of the day were failing. Saul had tried to win Israel’s battle but he did it in his own strength and with his own wisdom and he failed – but there was a time when all Israel was enamored with him.

If you will remember, Saul’s kingship was the result of the proud and rebellious demands of a disobedient Israel that was much more concerned with how the king looked than with whom God had chosen. The Bible says Saul stood a head taller than most men and was very handsome. David, on the other hand, was a ruddy kid that God chose when He sent Samuel the Prophet to anoint him as King. David was God’s choice – and Saul was the people’s choice.

Well, God gave Israel just what they asked for, but told them they would regret that choice in the years to come and they did. But only after many of their sons had lost their lives because Saul was proud and disobedient, and he went out to battle and made other decisions without consulting the God of Israel. Eventually this disobedience caused him to be so hardened that he even consulted a witch. Saul, in the end, committed suicide in a battle he could not win because God was not with him.

David, on the other hand, always consulted God before he went out to battle the enemies of Israel. One such incident is recorded in 2 Samuel 5:24 when God spoke to David and said, “And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” The principle is this: Always seek God’s wisdom before you do anything and wait for His answer. Ask God “what should I do?” When you do that, He will go before you and move in your behalf!

In the Last Days, the true leaders of the Lord’s Army will arise, and they will inquire of the Lord what they should do. Many of them will have been stripped of any self-importance in the valleys of life as David was, yet they go forward to do battle with the enemies of God because their heart belongs to Him alone – and God Himself has ordained them! Man did not do it, and man cannot undo it.

As leaders of the Lord’s Army arise, there is a ‘rustling in the mulberry trees’ and the Lord is going out before them to move in their behalf!” Jim Bakker

July 4th of this year will mark Jim Bakker’s 50th year in ministry, and Morningside Ministry is planning a special three day celebration for both July 4th and Jim’s 50 years in serving the Lord. From July 2nd – 4th, special guest speakers and anointed singers will be there for the celebration. There also will be a few “surprise” guests and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the “free of charge” celebration, or you can watch it live on http://www.jimbakkershow.com/. Note: This year there are new RV campsites available as well as condo rentals on the grounds of Morningside.

Understanding the Times:
In a time when unprecedented events are taking place around the world daily, including wars, civil unrest, natural disasters, worldwide economic trouble and record breaking weather events, many people still do not make the connection to the Bible, which speaks clearly of these times. Downplaying the idea that we really are living in the times of trouble as spoken of in the Bible, a few new ideas are emerging that paint the events of today as just a time of trouble that will soon pass. Gaining momentum in some circles is a belief that, “Eventually everything is going to get better.” In contrast, Jesus says BEFORE He returns there will be tribulation such as never seen before, or will ever be again.

The Bible says in Matthew 24: 4-14;
4 Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. 7 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. 8 But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

9 Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”

Rick Joyner wrote to the members: “Our purpose for doing this is to give everyone on staff and in our congregation a special time to seek the Lord, to get closer to Him and our families. It is also an opportunity to visit other congregations to get to know other members of the body of Christ which are also our family.” www.morningstarministries.com.

July
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)

Christmas in July!

The July 4th weekend held at Morningside Ministry in Blue Eye, Missouri was an overwhelming display of love, forgiveness and unity among the many people who went there to be a part of celebrating Pastor Jim Bakker’s fiftieth year in ministry. Lori Bakker’s hard work in organizing, planning and inviting a few “surprise guests” surpassed everyone’s expectations. From dedicated PTL Partners, close relatives and friends, to the pillars and pioneers of Christian TV, they all came together for this amazing three day celebration.

Jim Bakker’s legacy began in the 1960’s when he impacted the world with his dream of creating a Christian talk show. At the time, Jim & Tammy Faye were hosting a popular puppet show on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) founded by Reverend Pat Robertson. While doing the puppet show, he granted Jim Bakker permission to start the first ever Christian talk show. Going along the same lines as the Tonight Show, they named the new program The 700 Club.

The 700 Club
was an unprecedented accomplishment igniting a new era that redefined Christian programming. At first, it seemed unfeasible to bring together church leaders from different denominations to be on a television program without causing tensions between them. Nevertheless, by respecting each guest’s church affiliation, Jim Bakker broke through denominational walls that to a large extent separated Christians from communicating with one another. Putting doctrinal differences aside and keeping the programs centered on the Bible and God’s love for all people, Jim Bakker’s dream became a successful reality. The 700 Club was also the first Christian program to form a prayer team and give an opportunity for viewers to call in with their prayer requests.

After eight years, Jim Bakker left The 700 Club heading to California where he and Paul Crouch created the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), with Jim Bakker being its first President. A few years later Jim & Tammy Faye moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where the PTL Television Network and mega 2200 acre Christian retreat Heritage USA were born. Heritage USA became known worldwide as The Home of the PTL Satellite Network; at the time, there were only four satellite networks in the world. Because of this one man’s God-given vision to reach people with the Gospel through television, millions of lives were transformed.

While all the guests at the celebration gathered together sharing hugs, tears and stories of bygone days, the Lord began to restore some of the broken bonds of friendship, which up until now seemed irreparable. It was miraculous! The innovative people who actually pioneered Christian TV alongside Jim Bakker were together again for the first time in twenty-five years, making this event unequaled to any other PTL gathering since 1987.

In turn, the “behind the scenes” people who helped start Christian TV were honored by Pastor Jim. Among them was Dr. Dale Hill, the teenager who was there at the beginning of The 700 Club and worked his way up from a cameraman to becoming the Senior Vice President in charge of TV Production for the entire PTL Ministry. When the PTL Ministry ended, Dr. Hill continued in TV production, founding The Broadcast Group. Over the past twenty years, he has produced and assisted in TV production for some of the world’s premier organizations and well-known Christian ministries. Dr. Hill is also the new owner of the TV Studio at Heritage USA.

Russell James, who also worked for Jim Bakker in the early years, is the new owner of Heritage USA’s Upper Room. Russell was moved to both laughter and tears as Jim Bakker reflected on the beginning days of Christian TV where he encountered some comical and unpredictable situations on the TV set because of Russell’s unique sense of humor.

Through all of the problems attached to creating new types of Christian TV programs, these extraordinarily gifted pioneers produced something that had never been done before. At the time, they probably didn’t fully realize how they were turning the world upside down for the Lord.

Here is an excerpt from one of Morningside’s Blogs describing the 4th of July reunion/celebration:

“Bob and Jeanne Johnson, Christian music icons, sang with a timeless anointing of days gone by like they did at PTL – and they look much the same too! Shirley Fullbright, Jim’s secretary for 28 years was there to pay him tribute as well. Vi Azedio, who worked for Pastor Jim as head of the counseling department at PTL, was there to honor this memorable occasion.

Donna Puckett, Pastor Jim’s sister and Marlee Bakker, his niece, were among other family members. Dr. Don and Susan Verhulst, Dr. Paul and Judy Hegstrom, Bishop Ronnie Web and many, many others brought joy and gladness to Jim’s heart by being at this special event. And there is Lee Townsley, Jeremy Lefebre and Ted Squires … all heroes in their own right.”

More surprise guests included BeBe Winans whose roots go back to the early days of PTL when he and his sister CeCe soared to stardom when Jim Bakker gave them their start at Heritage USA. BeBe and CeCe Winans will be given a Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame this coming October and they invited Pastor Jim to be there to introduce them.

Philip Cameron, another longtime friend from the early days and a frequent guest on The Jim Bakker Show, preached every night of the weekend. Philip Cameron and his wife Chrissy now head up Stella’s Voice, a ministry dedicated to saving orphaned teenagers from being sold into sex trafficking in the communist country of Moldova. In the 1960’s, Philip and his dad Simon Cameron started an incredible move of God when they appeared for the first time on Christian TV singing a little known song that broke through the stigma of religion. The Holy Ghost Will Set Your Feet to Dancing sparked a revival that lasted for several months.

Picture taken by Morningside Ministries of the old PTL Crew on July 4th

Russ Taff of the Imperials was another one of the surprise guests. Jim & Tammy Faye embraced the Imperials because they changed the tempo of Christian music, reaching out to the upcoming generation of that day. While many Christian radio stations would not play the Imperials’ songs at first, Jim & Tammy gladly opened the door to them. Lead singer Russ Taff came to thank Jim Bakker for believing in the “new sound,” which contributed to revolutionizing Christian music. Everyone at the celebration stood to their feet when Russ Taff sang the Imperials’ mega hit, We Will Stand. All at once, there was unity among everyone…

But, the greatest guest at the celebration was the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit. On the 4th of July at Heritage USA there were tens of thousands of people who attended the day-long gala affair that ended late in the evening with a huge fireworks display.

The July 4th celebration at Morningside lacked PTL’s parade, huge fireworks display, the Heritage Grand Hotel, the million gallon water park, acres upon acres of immaculately landscaped grounds, the Upper Room or the Barn Auditorium, but suddenly everyone experienced PTL’s phenomenal atmosphere all over again. The presence of God was felt on the grounds of Morningside and it flowed into the homes of the many people watching from around the world.

It did not matter that PTL’s beautiful Retreat Center has changed dramatically, or that Heritage USA was hundreds of miles away. The secret to the PTL Ministry’s popularity wasn’t in the beauty of Heritage USA, rather Hertitage USA’s beauty actually camouflaged the real reason for its extraordinary success, which was God’s tangible presence on every inch of the grounds!

The all but forgotten special anointing that God blessed the PTL Ministry with infused Morningside. It was an astounding moment to once again experience the presence of God going out from Morningside as it did on the PTL Club decades ago; it was as if only a moment had passed since the PTL Club went off the air. When the Spirit of the Lord came into Grace Street at Morningside, nothing else seemed to matter. It was much more than celebrating the 4th of July; it was like reliving a most memorable Christmas.

In fact, it was like having CHRISTMAS IN JULY!

August
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in
heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there
the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:19-21 (NLT)

Lakeside Lodges: PTL’s Lakeside Lodges timeshare buildings on Lake Heritage, now owned by Coulston Enterprises, are still being used by PTL Partners whose timeshare contracts haven’t expired yet. The unused timeshare units are being rented to the public. When Coulston Enterprises first acquired the property in 2005, they planned to eventually take down the timeshare buildings and build townhomes when all the timeshare contracts ran out.

During the month, the old PTL timeshare cabins that have sat vacant for years in the parking lot of the former Wagon Wheel Restaurant (now the home of Jubilee Life Center Church) were removed.

An August 23rd article in the Fort Mill Times reported:
Moving PTL cabins more arduous than owner expected – By Jason Chisari
FORT MILL TOWNSHIP
For more than five years, the Elm, Maple, and Pine cabins, remnants of the PTL and Heritage USA, have sat dormant and neglected in a vacant lot neighboring the ill-fated Christian-themed amusement park.

They rest on steel beams provided by Jim Ward and ABC House Movers, and Ward estimates he’s had “over three dozen” inquiries regarding the purchasing and moving of the cabins.

But now, Indian Land resident and single father of two Gary Pettus has purchased the cabins, negotiating months ago with The Cause USA president Chuck Mervin after noticing a listing online. The Cause USA is a church currently located on the property now owned by MorningStar Ministries and Mervin serves as sales agent for the cabins. The entire article can be accessed at: http://www.fortmilltimes.com/2011/08/23/1679177/moving-ptl-cabins-more-arduous.html

The Upper Room: From the 1st – 6th, over a dozen volunteers turned out to help with the ongoing endeavor to fully restore the Upper Room. Painting, patching, pressure- washing and plumbing were just a few of the projects listed on the “to do list.” It was a sizable undertaking, but through the combined labor of all the volunteers, most of the work was completed. Recently planted flowers and foliage around the historic building added a beautiful touch. Photos of the work-week can be viewed on the Upper Room Chapel’s Facebook page.

The Walk of Faith: ‘Phase Two’ of the Upper Room’s restoration will be the Walk of Faith. The old walkway was damaged because of the 2006 construction of a bridge and roadway that cut through it. Russell James announced at one of the Sunday night Worship Services in the Upper Room that he has located all 17 Scriptures etched in granite tablets that were originally set in the Walk of Faith. The recreated Walk of Faith will include the 17 Scriptures, be handicapped accessible and encircle the Upper Room. Anyone who would like to donate to this project can go to the Upper Room Chapel’s web site at: http://upperroomchapel.com/ and click on the “Support” Tab.

You Can Begin Again! The restoration of the Upper Room could not have happened at a more perfect time for John and Corie Wagner as they began a new life together this month when they were married there. This was the first wedding performed in the Upper Room since its restoration.

Signs of the Times:
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” 2 Peter 3:3 (NLT)

On the 5th, for the first time in American history, Standard and Poor’s international credit agency downgraded America’s AAA credit rating to a double AA+. The action was so far reaching that it caused worldwide reaction. Consequently, on the 8th, the New York Stock Exchange started to suffer wild swings in the Dow Jones’ average.

Jim Bakker immediately responded to the Stock Market’s tumble in his August 8th Blog. Below is the full text:

Stock Market tumbling, what’s next?

“Wall Street had its worst day today since the 2008 financial crisis that put the United States into a financial calamity that we are still in today! We are in the days that the book of Revelation told us that would come before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no way the Antichrist can take control without a time of crisis so bad that millions of people will sign up with him just to get food to eat.

I have what I believe is a word from the Holy Spirit that a third world war is near and it may not even be called “The Third World War.” But it will be indeed worldwide in scope and will be caused by lack of food and worldwide financial turmoil. The Antichrist will charm the world and have answers and use this coming time of turmoil to move into leadership.

According to the scriptures Jesus will not return until the Antichrist is revealed. Look at 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-4 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

We are in the beginning of sorrows, there is much more to come. Jesus said in Matthew 24: 7-8 ‘For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.’

None of these things have caught God unaware. If you want to know what comes next read the Book of Revelation. It’s all there! God loves you! He really does!”

On the 5th: – WCNC News reported: Effects of solar flares arriving on Earth – Washington (AP) The impact of a series of eruptions on the sun began arriving at Earth on Friday and could affect some communications for a day or so.

Operators of electrical grids are working to avoid outages, but the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says some satellite communications and Global Positioning Systems could face problems.

Three solar flares erupted on the sun starting Tuesday, and the strongest electromagnetic shocks were being felt Friday by the ACE spacecraft, a satellite that measures radiation bursts a few minutes before they strike Earth, said Joseph Kunches, a scientist at NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colo.

Tom Bogdan, director of the center said the sun is going from a quiet period into a busier cycle for solar flares and an increase in the number of such blasts is expected over the next three to five years…” The rest of the article can be read at: http://www.wcnc.com/news/national/126847703.html

Renovatus Church: The Renovatus Church continues holding Sunday morning services at 11 a.m. in the former PTL TV studio (now owned by The Broadcast Group). Every Sunday Pastor Jonathan Martin, whose roots are founded in the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee, ministers the Gospel in a refreshingly unique way that departs from tradition without departing from the pure teachings found in the Bible. Anointed worship music coupled with the ease with which Pastor Martin brings simplicity to difficult subject matters helps to “renovate” and “transform” people from all walks of life. Renovatus genuinely conveys hope and encouragement to this generation!

From the 15th – 17th MorningStar Ministries held an “Advanced Prophetic Conference” in the lobby of the Heritage Grand Hotel. Several hundred people attended the three-day gathering that brought together people from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Africa and South Korea. Guest speakers included Rick Joyner, Larry Randolph and Bobby Conner.

A portion of Rick Joyner’s writings on the conference:

“We have four major goals for this conference. The first is for each one of you to leave closer to the Lord than when you came. The second is that you have a more clear and accurate spiritual map into the future. The third is that you are better prepared for your purpose in these times.

Our last goal, but not the least, is to touch the Lord’s heart. Therefore, in everything we do we give a high priority to worship. We know that we ‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise…’ (Psalm 100:4). The grace and dignity of the Lord requires that we be mindful not to unnecessarily offend or jostle others with our expressions of worship, but to do everything decently and in order. Remember that ‘Love does no wrong to a neighbor…’ (Romans 13:10). We also acknowledge that the very Hebrew and Greek words translated “praise” and “worship” indicate demonstrative expressions of our adoration. Be free, in love.”

Good News! The Upper Room’s ‘Walk of Faith’ restoration project is moving forward ~ Russell James announced that he now has one-fourth of the funds needed to construct the new Walk of Faith, which he named ‘Phase Two’ of the restoration of the Upper Room. The restored Walk of Faith will include the original 17 Scriptures from the old, damaged walkway. Anyone who would like to donate to this worthwhile project can go to the Upper Room Chapel’s web site at: http://upperroomchapel.com/ and click on the “Support” Tab.

The Towers ~ a look back
Below is an article that appeared in the “April 1987” edition of the Heritage USA Herald when the Towers was just a few months away from completion:

Work Continues on the 21-Story Structure
Towers Drawing Closer To Its Completion

Elegant. Majestic. Unique. Those are just some of the words used to describe the Heritage Grand Towers by visitors viewing the 21-story structure being built next to the Heritage Grand Ministry Center.

Construction continues to progress daily inside the Towers, with crews concentrating on the first floor during the next few weeks. By mid-March, laborers were roughing in electrical, heating, cooling, and plumbing work, in addition to pouring the concrete floor slabs for the spacious lobby area.

When completed, the lobby will feature Italian marble covering 7000-square feet of floor space, ornate pillars, large arched windows, mirrors, chandeliers, lounge areas, and a sundry shop. A large staircase with wrought iron railing and brass hand-rail shall lead to second-floor offices.

Towers Construction “1987”

When the last of the brick veneer is completed on the first and second floors, ornate trim will be added to the exterior, giving a Victorian appearance to the structure. Work also continues on the canopy and two-story walkway leading from the front of the Towers to Main Street Heritage USA.

The walkway will eventually be enclosed by a see through covering for protection during inclement weather. Inside the Towers, about 90 percent of the work is completed up through the twelfth floor, with only furniture, drapery, and other finishing touches still needed in the rooms and hallways.

On the remaining upper levels, workers continue to install sheetrock, ceramic bathroom floor tiles, carpeting, and wallpaper.

Each of the Towers’ 513 rooms will be decorated in a European-flavor, with different colored wallpaper, two double beds, dining table and chairs. Italian Bombay chest, armoire, color television, full bath, and vanity. The twenty-first floor is to feature honey-moon rooms and several suites.

Footing was expected to be laid by the end of last month for several rooms, which will be part of a recreation center adjoining the Towers. The 70,900 square foot recreation center, when completed, is to include a bowling alley, lap pool, sauna, health club, family theater, restaurant and a banquet hall.

Note: It is almost surreal to have witnessed the many attempts made to finish the Towers over the past twenty-five years. The late Pastor David Wilkerson’s proclamation from the mid 1980’s about the fate of the Towers does seem to hold true. Check our “Archives” section from September 22nd of 2010 to read Pastor Wilkerson’s dire warning.

During the month, Dr. Billy Graham’s daughter Anne Graham Lotz appeared on the FOX Network to promote her new book Expecting to See Jesus, which centers on the belief that we are living in the last generation. In a dramatic interview on the Mike Huckabee Show, she was asked about her credibility possibly being “hurt” for taking such a bold step by saying that we are living in the “last days.” She replied politely, “Maybe God has given me credibility for this time.”

The Christian Post reported:
Anne Graham Lotz on the Wake-Up Call of 9/11: ‘Signs of the Times’ Revealed

Anne Graham Lotz, like her father, the legendary evangelist Dr. Billy Graham, has hope that God’s people will stop sleeping through the obvious signs of the times and realize the 9/11 terrorist attacks were one of the many clues to the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Lotz says the tragic attacks of 9/11 woke her up from a deep spiritual nap and has spent the last decade with an increasingly urgent conviction to evangelize and spread the Christian message about how we are in the midst of the “signs of the times.”

“I’ve been convinced that 9/11 was our wakeup call. If that wouldn’t wake up the church, what would it take?” Lotz told The Christian Post. “We’re looking at the end. I have such a strong conviction and compulsion that I cannot just ignore it.”

Understanding the Times:
Then he gave them this illustration: “Notice the fig tree, or any other tree. When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

“For every person will be salted with fire. Salt is good but if the salt loses its salty taste, you cannot make it salty again. So, be full of salt, and have peace with each other.” Mark 9:49-50 NLT

New Homes on the Grounds: In the Emerald Lakes section of Heritage, several new homes are in the process of being constructed – or soon will be.

1. After a long period of stagnation, new home construction is on the rise at the Balmoral, Fallbrook and Wellsley Ford subdivisions.

2. The new Bexley subdivision, where Recreation Village once stood, is finishing up preparation of the land for their new single family homes. (Builders – Ryland Homes)

3. The property next to the Upper Room where PTL’s Sugar Creek campgrounds stood is being cleared and readied by Eastwood Homes for the construction of 64 single-family homes. During the month, bulldozers and heavy machinery took down hundreds of trees and leveled the old campgrounds. Logging trucks hauled away most of the trees to make room for this latest subdivision.

4. Recently, a sign has been placed on the acreage where the Heritage Island water park stood indicating that the owner is requesting a rezoning of the property. According to York County, the applicant seeks to amend the PD for the ability to add 50’ detached lots to the parcel area that is noted on the PD plan as being commercial/multi-family townhomes.

The Upper Room/Sugar Creek area: Because the Upper Room is adjacent to the former Sugar Creek campgrounds, its parking lot is now part of a roadway leading into the area where the new homes will be built. Russell James, the Upper Room’s owner, plans to create an additional parking area on the side of the building to accommodate the changes.
Parking space is still available in the Upper Room’s parking lot despite the change in the landscape. Praise & Worship Services will continue being held at the Upper Room on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m., and the Prayer Teams are also available on Saturdays and Sundays. Extra parking is offered in the Amphitheatre’s parking lot located just across the road from the Upper Room. The Upper Room’s web site: www.upperroomchapel.com.

Good News! On Sunday the 16th, Russell James announced, at the Upper Room’s Praise & Worship Service, that he has received all the funding needed to rebuild the Walk of Faith. Construction of the “new” walkway began this month and is scheduled for completion by December 1st.

On December 1st, there will be a celebration at the Upper Room for the one year anniversary of its reopening:
Russell James wrote on the Upper Room’s Facebook account, “You are cordially invited to the one year celebration of the reopening of the Upper Room (Thursday) December 1st 2011 starting at 1 p.m. sharp until. There will be special music, a report of the first year, a very special message, communion and the rededication of the Walk of Faith. If you loved Heritage USA and the Upper Room, then you surely don’t want to miss this. Please come early to meet old friends and meet new ones.” For updated information, check the Upper Room’s Facebook account at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/62147692320/

Note: Over the past year, the Upper Room has been completely refurbished and is once again being used for ministry. Congratulations go out to Russell James! God bless him and all the people that worked on and supported the Upper Room’s restoration. It truly is a great encouragement to many, many people who witnessed this miracle.

On the 19th, Jim Bakker was on hand in Los Angeles, California to introduce world renowned brother-and-sister Gospel singers BeBe & CeCe Winans at a special ceremony where they were awarded a “Star” on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The Winans invited Jim Bakker to introduce them at the award ceremony because their singing career began at Heritage USA in the early 1980’s when they were discovered by Jim & Tammy Faye. After leaving the PTL Ministry, BeBe and CeCe went on to become famous multi Grammy Award winning performers.

Fox 11 News reported the following about the Winans’ Star on the Walk of Fame: “Hollywood – The brother-and-sister Gospel singing duo BeBe and CeCe Winans will receive the 2,452 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, honoring a career that has brought them seven chart-topping albums and singles and a combined 15 Grammy Awards.” Click on link to read the entire article: Bebe & Cece Winans

Below is a video of Tammy Faye singing with CeCe Winans on a PTL show in the early 1980’s. In the forefront is BeBe Winans.

During the month at Morningside Ministries in Blue Eye, Missouri, Jim Bakker continued speaking out about the Book of Revelation, and about being prepared for all types of emergencies, including man-made and natural disasters. By offering survival equipment, water filtration devices, and emergency food products, he hopes people will not become victims, but they will be able to help themselves and others instead of waiting for help to come to them.

Pastor Jim is also speaking out more BOLDLY and CONFIDENTLY about the condition many of today’s churches are in. The following is a large portion from one of the most powerful and convicting messages he has ever written…

“Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit.

There’s an abundance of rhetoric in today’s world. It comes at us through many different voices on our televisions, computers, and other electronic media. We hear rhetoric of all kinds from the media and politicians of our day, especially since we are approaching another election year. A lot of it sounds like they make it up as they go along, speaking things they don’t really believe or mean, in order to win favor with voters to be elected…

Yet, most people have been conditioned to accept the world’s political rhetoric as “normal” and their candidate’s veracity takes a back seat to individual bias.

Could the same be said of our “Happy Church” leaders?

Could the Church be so accustomed to a lukewarm, watered-down gospel, that the real message from the Lord for the hour is perceived as abrasive or even offensive?
“Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!” Ezekiel 13:3 KJV

I get letter after letter saying; “Jim, you’re the only one preaching Revelation today. Keep up the good work!” Why don’t we hear the Revelation message preached when the days of Revelation are unfolding right before us, and any other message should be secondary?”

All too often, it’s because preachers are afraid of being labeled “prophets of doom” and they bend and sway with the demands of the people.

Jeremiah had experienced this phenomenon when he had tried to warn the Israelites that they would be judged for their sin if they did not repent! His warnings were met with derision, but he prophesied anyway.

Jeremiah 23:33-36 says; “When one of the people or one of the ‘prophets’ or priests asks you, ‘Well, Jeremiah, what is the sad news from the Lord today?’ you shall reply, ‘What sad news? You are the sad news, for the Lord has cast you away!’ And as for the false prophets and priests and people who joke about ‘today’s sad news from God,’ I will punish them and their families for saying this. You can ask each other, ‘What is God’s message? What is he saying? But stop using this term, ‘God’s sad news.’ (or Prophets of doom!)

Warning others from the Word of God that these are indeed the Last Days is not a well-received message. Many people make fun of us for doing it. Others accuse us of some ulterior motive.

We are compelled to preach! You have to know which voice to listen to – and then you have to obey! We must hear from God in this day we’re living in! Hearing from God often means shutting out the world and getting alone with Him and His Word to hear what He wants to say to us personally, and corporately. The leaders of God’s Church must not be lax in seeking the message that is relevant for the day and hour at hand. It could mean life or death to the flock, spiritually speaking. “Feed my sheep!” was not a request, it was a mandate.

Feeding God’s sheep means to give them something that will nurture them. It means hours spent in the Word and prayer so that you know that you know you are feeding the Lord’s manna instead of giving them some regurgitated old dried up ear-tickling slop!

Going on-line an hour before church to get your sermon from someone else is not exactly hearing from God. A serious follower of Jesus wants more, and they deserve more. And the serious leader in God’s Church can, and does, feed the flock of God what they need to survive and thrive!

Jeremiah 23:29-32 says; “Does not my word burn like fire?” asks the Lord. “Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashed the rock to pieces? So I stand against these ‘prophets’ who get their messages from each other-these smooth-tongued ‘prophets’ who say, ‘This message is from God!’ Their made-up dreams and flagrant lies that lead my people into sin. I did not send them, and they have no message at all for my people, says the Lord.” Jim Bakker www.jimbakkershow.com

From the 27th – 29th, MorningStar Ministries held its annual Harvest Fest Conference. Speakers included Bishop Joseph Garlington, Bob Weiner and Rick Joyner. Worship leader and gifted singer Don Potter brought a special anointing to the whole atmosphere at this particular conference.

This year the conference was held indoors, and Main Street was filled with people on all three days. The sidewalks were lined with representatives of ministries associated with MorningStar whose display tables were filled with readily available information about their organizations. Vendors showcased their merchandise, which included many exceptional oil paintings and a wide variety of artwork, clothing and trinkets from around the world. Everyone mingled together enjoying the friendly atmosphere and “delicious” food that was available to all.

As is her tradition, Rick Joyner’s wife, Julie, worked on raising funds to prepare a few thousand Christmas shoeboxes filled with toys and basic necessities for needy children around the world. All the filled shoeboxes will be donated to Rev. Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse in Charlotte, North Carolina.

MorningStar University set up an information center in the lobby of the hotel for those interested in obtaining degrees in theology and other specialized areas of ministry. Missionaries from several countries including Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras were on hand to talk about their struggles and rewards in bringing the gospel to the nations. These missionaries willingly put their lives on the line for the sake of the Gospel in some of the most dangerous regions of the world. www.morningstarministries.org

Signs of the Times
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:3-4 KJV

A look back ~ A portion of the late Pastor David Wilkerson’s prophecy from the Times Square Church in New York City:
“For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut.

Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires such as we saw in Watts and Los Angeles years ago. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting, including Times Square in New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm: 11:3 it is written, If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
Pastor David Wilkerson

Below are a few events that line up with Pastor Wilkerson’s warning:

On November 8th, Rick Joyner was a guest on the Jim Bakker Show in Blue Eye, Missouri. This particularly long taping was edited into four segments that aired on Jim Bakker’s show November 18th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The two long-time friends’ time together turned into an intense discussion centered on the seriousness of the worldwide financial crises, the continuing natural disasters happening around the world and the spiritual condition of the church.

They found common ground in that the “times of trouble” we are experiencing throughout America is not a Democratic or a Republican problem – they both believe the problem is spiritual. Jim Bakker spoke about how, over the past several decades, God has been removed from almost every facet of American culture. He commented that it began in 1962 when prayer was removed from all public schools, and has since progressed to where it is now prohibited to read a Bible in a public school. Jim Bakker and Rick Joyner agreed America is in dire straits and the church itself needs another great awakening.

“The only hope for America is for Christians to turn back to God,” Rick Joyner said. America’s current financial problems are now “beyond human remedy,” and quoted what he believes is the answer from 11Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Note: All four programs can be seen at: http://www.jimbakkershow.com/ in the “Archives” Section.

The following is a portion of Rick Joyner’s November writings from MorningStar’s Word for the Week (Week 41) – The Judgments of God, Part 4 – God’s Ways Are Not Our Ways. The entire article can be read at: www.morningstarministries.com.

“The Scriptures are clear that the judgment of God will come upon the world at the end of the age. Even so, there are events that we might categorize as “natural,” or the earth itself groaning and travailing. How can we distinguish the difference, or is there a difference? Even if God is not doing them to us, He is at least allowing them. Not all are a message from God, but if they are, we want to get that message so He does not have to speak louder the next time through a more severe situation. The Scriptures are clear that many of these things are judgments of God, and if we do not get the message, there is no hope of repentance that might turn away His further judgments.

Most of the troubles and tribulations coming upon the world at the end of this age are our own doing. These are the result of mankind having the arrogance to think that we can run this world, or even our own lives, without God. Mankind has done some things very well, but in many basic areas we have done very poorly, and we will reap what we have sown. There is considerable evidence, backed up by Scripture, that God has actually held back the destruction with which mankind would have destroyed himself out of His patience and desire for men to be saved. This has been the grace and mercy of the Lord and His judgments, and in many cases, are the result of Him simply not restraining some things any longer and letting the consequences of mankind’s rebellion and debauchery be released. These too are the judgments of God, even if they are in the sense that He is refusing to restrain any longer and allowing them to happen.

The ultimate cause of every human problem is turning away from God and thinking we can do this without Him. The ultimate answer is to turn back to God in repentance and humility, acknowledging that we need Him and we want to obey Him. That this would happen would be my hope for having the impending judgments coming upon our nation restrained. If you think you are just dealing with nature instead of God and not connecting our rebellions and transgressions to what is coming upon us, repentance is not likely, and the terrible destruction that could have been avoided will come.”

On the weekend of November 11th, MorningStar Ministries hosted the Artists Music Guild’s 1st Inaugural Convention (http://artistsmusicguild.com/). The theme of this two-day convention was “A Walk Through the History of Music,” which was held on Main Street and in the lobby of the Heritage Grand, and it was recorded for a future documentary to be presented by the PBS Television Network.

It was an inspirational evening that incorporated a basic history of different styles of music and showcased a variety of talent from the Charlotte area. Included in the musical production were performances by the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, Charlotte Youth Ballet, Friendship Baptist Mass Choir and the Charlotte City-Wide Hymn Choir.

Lee Young, Brian Keith, Toni Bogart & Russ Hosey

The event was also the “FIRST TIME REUNION” for some of the PTL Singers. It was an overwhelmingly nostalgic moment for many in the audience to once again see some of the PTL singers, which included Brian Keith, Toni Bogart, Lee Young and Sandy & Russ Hosey. In spite of the twenty plus years they’ve been apart, the unique blend of their anointed voices still minister a powerful message of hope. Some PTL Partners and former staff members who were seated in the audience spontaneously cheered and praised God as they heard them perform a few of their well-known songs for the first time since Heritage USA’s glory days.

Hopefully, this will not be their one and only appearance together. Prayerfully, someday all the PTL Singers and anyone else who was a part of the PTL Ministry could hold a televised reunion/restoration event. A gathering like that could bring an inner healing to many people who were, and some still are, heartbroken over the loss of the PTL Ministry.

PTL Singer, Toni Bogart commented, “I continued to sing after PTL, but the feeling I’m getting being associated with my former colleagues again is indescribable. Having the powerful opportunity to touch thousands of lives back during the show’s heyday was something I will never forget, and that wonderful feeling is rising up in me once again.”

Note: In the process of restoring the buildings on the grounds, we sometimes forget to restore or even honor the people who sacrificed their time and talents to make Heritage USA the exceptional place it once was.

Our local paper The Herald reported on the event:

Artists reunite at former PTL site in Fort Mill ~ By Jason Chisari

FORT MILL – As the youngest member of the Cook Family Singers, David L. Cook performed 28 times on Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker’s “Praise the Lord” television program near Fort Mill.
This weekend, the seven-time Emmy Award winner returns to the former Heritage USA theme park for the inaugural convention of the Artists Music Guild. The guild was formed to support musicians with services ranging from video production to banking and insurance.
The convention will seek to help develop artists who perform this weekend.
But the location also holds a sentimental meaning for Cook, who is the guild’s executive board president. Returning to the former PTL is special for him and several other former PTL performers.
“When PTL was devastated by all that happened, many of the singers and performers came in to work one day and were told not to ever come back,” Cook said.
“These people were stars and were trusted into the homes of so many people,” he said. They did nothing wrong, and we feel by doing this convention and inviting these singers back, they are walking in on their own terms to once again share their talent. It’s a heartbreaking feeling.”
Heritage USA was located at the site of today’s Regent Park community. It was once the third most popular theme park in the United States. The Bakkers were among the most popular televangelists in the country in the 1970s and 1980s.
But the show and theme park crumbled amid a sex and financial scandal.
In addition to Cook, contemporary Christian singer Christie Southerland, blues legend Kat Williams, multi-award winning percussionist Jim Brock, the Charlotte Youth Ballet and Civic Orchestra and the Charlotte Meter Hymn Choir are each scheduled to perform during the two-day convention.
A “talent showcase” will begin at 8 a.m. today and continue until 4:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., PBS will film for a documentary on the history of music.
For Cook, an important event is the PTL reunion, which will feature former performers such as Toni Bogart, Russell and Sandy Hosey, Brian Keith and Lee Young.
Bogart, a Christian singer who performed regularly on PTL, is ecstatic to rekindle the memories she made during her tenure on the program, which ran from 1974 to 1989.
“I continued to sing after PTL, but the feeling I’m getting being associated with my former colleagues again is indescribable,” Bogart said.
“Having the powerful opportunity to touch thousands of lives back during the show’s heyday was something I will never forget, and that wonderful feeling is rising up in me once again.”
The cost for entry is $10. But the guild is more concerned with collecting nonperishable canned goods from attendees, Cook said. All donated goods will go toward Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, a nonprofit that serves families suffering from physical and mental abuse.
Also appearing at the convention is musician and profession chef Matt Dudney, son of country music legend Barbara Mandrell and a guild member.
“When something comes together as seamlessly as AMG has, it usually says to me that God meant it to happen,” Dudney said. “Seeing the old PTL guard come back together is a neat reoccurrence of history, and I’m looking forward to the years us AMG artists will spend together.”
The convention will be held at the Heritage International auditorium at 375 Star Light Drive in Fort Mill Township.

On November 17th, The Jim Bakker Show’s guests included former PTL singing twosome, Bob & Jeanne Johnson, and Marriage Counselor Vi Azvedo, who conducted Marriage Workshops at Heritage USA during the 1980s. Much like the Marriage Workshops held at Heritage, Morningside Ministries held a three-day Marriage Seminar on Grace Street.

These structured workshops make an effort through prayer and counseling to save couples from divorcing while they learn how to have a good-quality relationship in marriage. Thousands of marriages were spared from divorce as they were healed through these life-changing workshops that were once held at PTL.

During a taping of one of the TV shows, Bob and Jeanne sang a few of their most popular songs from the PTL era, and Jim Bakker offered a new CD produced by Morningside Ministries featuring many of Bob and Jeanne’s most time-honored songs. The “new” CD can be ordered from Morningside Ministries at: www.jimbakkershow.com.

On November 21st, There was some news about the Towers’ situation, which is still in mediation. WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina did a report from the grounds, interviewing a few neighbors living around the Towers and they spoke with Rick Joyner.

The following is the news report from WSOC. This article with “Video” can be accessed at: WSOC Report.

“Neighbors write letters encouraging leaders to act on Heritage Tower issue”

FORT MILL, S.C.– Eric Kinsinger believes the eyesore standing above the trees just beyond his Fort Mill home has to come down.
He’s talking about the 21-story Heritage Tower on the property of the former Heritage USA Christian theme park. The tower has sat vacant for 25 years, since the fall of Jim Bakker’s PTL ministry in the late 80’s.
“If it was my house in that kind of disrepair, it would have been torn down a long time ago. The neighbors would be screaming,” he said.
One street over, off A.O. Jones Boulevard, neighbor Lisa Tummers agrees.
“It’s dilapidated, there are things falling off of it, and we just began to get concerned,” she said. “Something has to be done.”
After months of no action on the tower, Kinsinger decided to rally his neighbors to write letters to York County officials. The letters, which will be mailed on Tuesday, detail the county’s own code of laws about derelict buildings, and encourage elected leaders to act.
“I don’t think it’ll do anything, but at least it’ll show them that we’re still out here,” Kinsinger said.
MorningStar church bought the tower when it took over some of the former PTL property six years ago. Since then, the church has completely renovated the former grand hotel. That building now houses the church, a school and other facilities.
MorningStar pastor Rick Joyner announced big plans for the empty Heritage Tower two years ago. The goal is to turn the massive building into a retirement community. Roughly 150 people have already put down deposits, waiting until the project can be finished.
“We were close to getting the backing we needed when the county, I think wrongly, suddenly told us we were in default on the agreement,” Joyner said.
York County leaders have said MorningStar church was required to show them that they had the money to finish the $35 million project.
They claim the church has never shown evidence they have the financial support to make it work.
After talks between the church and the county broke down, both sides agreed to bring in a mediator to avoid a lawsuit.
Those meetings have gone on since last spring.
On Monday, York County Council member Britt Blackwell said he’s as frustrated as many neighbors are, and still waiting for answers.
“We’re still waiting to hear from this mediator. I keep asking about what decision has been made every month,” Blackwell said. “We can’t do anything at all until the mediation is over.”
Both sides told Channel 9 that virtually nothing has been accomplished or agreed to after months of mediation with a third party.
Many neighbors in the new subdivisions that have popped up since the demise of Heritage USA want to see the tower remain.
Sandy Hall can see it from her backyard. She urges those involved to be patient, and work something out for the benefit of senior citizens who will one day live there.
“I can see it from my living room window, and it’s ugly, but in my heart I believe there’s a purpose for it, and I’m willing to wait.” She said.
Pastor Joyner blames the economic meltdown in 2008, and the slow recovery for the delay in getting the money to move forward. However, he said the church is committed to the tower.
“We will not quit until that thing is finished, people are in it, the lights are on and it’s the crown jewel of the county.” Joyner said. “I empathize with our neighbors who say it’s an eyesore and they want to see it done. No one wants it done more than us.”
An engineering company has told MorningStar church that the tower is structurally sound and in no danger of collapsing.
Church leaders plan to meet with county officials and a mediator once again next month. It’s not clear what will happen then, but MorningStar is prepared to move ahead with a lawsuit if an agreement can’t be reached.
In fact, Joyner told Channel 9 that the church was one day away from filing a suit last month, when the county approached them again, asking to resume talks on the issue.

On November 28th, final preparations were being made at the Upper Room for the “First Year Celebration” of its reopening, and the dedication of the remodeled Walk of Faith planned for December 1st.

Ever since Russell James saved the historic building from destruction in November 2010, there has been a remarkable transformation in the atmosphere around that area of the grounds.

The following is an excerpt from Russell James’ celebration announcement:

“God has truly blessed us all. As we celebrate this first year, we want to thank all those people who labored in repairing the Upper Room, for all those people who gave financial support and the prayer team who gave so much time to have the Upper Room open each weekend.

This has been a year of miracles. People have been healed of deaf ears, kidney stones, cancer, heart problems and a large number of people that prayed for jobs now have them. To date, over 4,100 volunteer hours have been given to help restore and operate the Upper Room…”

DECEMBER:

On the 1st, the special celebration for the first year anniversary of the reopening of the Upper Room began at 1 p.m. The celebration was well-attended and blessed with the presence of the Lord throughout the entire service.

Among the people attending the event were some of the volunteers from the 2002 restoration of the Upper Room. Jim & Edith Garvich and Marty & Ruth Landis were honored as they are the visionaries who actually began the project. In fact, every person that was there who worked on the Upper Room in 2002 was honored for their commitment to seeing the building restored.

A collage displaying several pictures of the 2002 Restoration Team, along with a plaque having all the names of the people involved with the project, were presented to Russell James at the opening of the service. They were then hung in the foyer of the Upper Room to preserve some of the building’s history and be reminded of God’s faithfulness.

1styearAnniversary
In addition, Clint Rogers, who is a history teacher at MorningStar Ministries’ Comenius School and the Upper Room’s Historian, placed an informative display of the Upper Room’s history on a table in the foyer. Every visitor can now view some amazing pictures on a slide show and look through a book filled with articles and pictures chronicling the building from when it was first constructed until now.

Moreover, Russell James gave out pamphlets explaining the origin and purpose of the Upper Room, and his future plans for it. His goals include a Garden of Gethsemane prayer garden, and to have the building open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week where anyone can come and find a prayer team member to pray with them or they can find a place alone to wait before the Lord.

It’s so important to know about the extraordinary events concerning the Upper Room’s restoration and understanding what a miracle its reopening truly is.

The following is a 2 minute video showing what Jim Garvich found when he first went into the Upper Room in September of 2002 after it had been closed for five years:

As 2011 winds down, it is our prayer that restoration continues on what is left of Heritage USA and there will be more victories to come. The other night Rick and I passed by the Barn Auditorium and saw the inside lit up for the first time in many years. People were busy painting, putting up trim and getting the church readied for what many believe will become a place where the glory of God dwells. Without a doubt the chains, locks and religious bondage that had kept this church closed have finally lost their grip.

The Barn is being readied for its soon opening.

It seems so prophetic to see lights once again shining out from this special church at this time of the year. To us, the light symbolizes the brightness that shown in the darkness over 2000 years ago on the night Jesus was born. Last year the lights shining from the Upper Room were an amazing sight to see again; now the Barn and the Upper Room are both pushing back the darkness on that part of the grounds.

May the Lord dispel any darkness in your lives and bring you to a place where the peace of God that passes all understanding keeps your mind and heart at peace despite all the turmoil surrounding our everyday lives.

Matthew 4:16 says, “The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.”

We would like to take this opportunity to Thank You very much for visiting our Time Line throughout the year.

We also want to sincerely wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year. God willing, we will continue on with the Time Line as 2012 appears to be another momentous year here at Heritage and around the world!

Love and Blessings,
Rick & Chris (from the grounds of Heritage USA)
